Restaurant El Volantí — Restaurant in Torroella de Montgrí

On the hunt for a good paella while being allergic to crustaceans, we sat down here. The server told us they could make it without the crustaceans, perfect! First time around, when it went wrong and got it à la carte, the server was super apologetic and was visibly upset himself. We felt sorry because in the end we asked for something we maybe shouldn’t have asked. We asked if we could order an additional main so they didn’t have to jump through hoops but the server didn’t want any of it.

Within a few minutes the kitchen managed to create a new paella with what we presumed was an on the go beef stock. It exceeded all of our expectations, and I ate until I thought my stomach would explode (which I usually never do). The waiter checked in several times, apologising every time. He clearly felt very bad, which we didn’t think he should.

We couldn’t finish the whole dish and without asking received the rest in a little box for later. Next time we come back we’ll ask if we can have it again, and if not there’s plenty of other good dishes on there.

In the restaurant El Volantì, nestled in the gentle hills of the town, time flies by. As the soul dives into the magnificent view, the horizon and dreams blur. The food is an ode to the palate: Fresh mussels, as if they had just sprung from the sea; meat croquettes with a taste of old tradition; a salad where goat cheese rests like snow on a winter landscape. The entrecote, juicy and tender, lets thoughts travel to distant places. To finish, the Creme Catalan seduces with its sweet temptation. For the unbeatable price of 25€, this menu enchants. The friendly service adds a warm touch to the evening. As night fell and the first lights twinkled over the sea, it became clear to me: El Volantì deserves each of those shining stars in the sky...

Púntuo este restaurante de forma positiva ya que termine satisfecho pero entiendo que haya alguien que de 2 estrellas y es que ni la comida destaca ni el servicio.

A mí me da igual si el camarero es más o menos simpático/a guapo/a pero sí, que me traigan lo que pido. En mi caso en el primero se equivocaron que dejamos pasar y en la cuenta también añadiendo el precio de otro menú que evidentemente no nos cobraron.

Pasando ya al lado gastronómico, pedí canelones con bacalao de primero, presentación en tarro y de cantidad bien pero bastante sosos, no sé si faltaba sal o cual era el problema pero no repetiría. Era como comer una pasta sin sabor.

Pedimos de beber vino tinto y casera y nada a destacar, de lo más genérico.

La paella mixta para 2 me gustó, estaba temiendo lo peor y cuando llegó estaba buena. El arroz estaba bien hecho y tenía quizá un gusto algo intenso pero la acabe disfrutando, sin dejar apenas restos en la paellera.

La localización y vistas es lo mejor del local, muy agradable la estancia y salí bastante lleno.

No es un mal precio hoy en día pero tienen que cuidar más el sabor de sus comidas, quizá mejorando las calidades, cuidando la cocina o sazonando bien.
