We had lunch here from the daily menu. The food itself was very good - good quality and good portion size (you won't leave hungry!). Value wise it was a little pricier than some other similar lunch menus (25€), but still I think represents good value for what you get.
The service was polite but I got the impression too busy to be truly friendly. Every person who served our table was polite but responses were typically quite short. Some of this was I am sure down to our limited Spanish or Catalan, so I understand the difficulty.
One thing worth noting is that while the menu is very clearly marked with a range of allergens (which looks great), they are not very accurate. We only discovered this when we came to desserts when my daughter who has coeliac disease was served her choice with some kind of crumbed biscuit on top. We asked to confirm this was gluten free at which point they said it wasn't. It then turned out that despite their menu stating that 4-5 of the choices are gluten free, in reality only one is gluten free (watermelon soup).
I suspect that the menu was probably correct but needed some kind of adaptation to be gluten free but by then our daughter had lost confidence so she just left it.
If we had had more language and if we hadn't had dietary restrictions I think we'd have been fine here. But I'm not sure I'd go back again, certainly not with...
Read moreMeh we really wanted to like this place based off of the reviews but the food was so disappointing. Firstly the service was great. All of the staff was very sweet. But unfortunately the food was pretty mediocre at best. We had the three course meals. The tomato salad was good. Didn’t have much flavor but the ingredients were fresh. My husband had salmon tartare which was really chewy fatty chunks of salmon. Wasn’t very edible.
Next came the mains which was duck and a seafood stew. The duck was really bad. Very rubbery. I barely could even cut it. I literally had to use a lot of force to cut through a thick layer of fat. It was chewy and the skin like rubber. They didnt even fully slice the duck. Tasted like old oily pans. My husbands stew was not good. No flavor at all and shrimps which had not been deveined. The dessert was blah. I had a pina colada which was basically overtly sweet drink mix with a scoop of ice cream.
The dinner was 100€ and we just felt so bummed out paying for such a disappointing meal.
I will say the dishes were beautifully presented but the technique was not there.
Maybe it was a bad day. I don’t know but we...
Read moreWe came here in a family gathering. We ordered things to share, out if which I would recommend the “calamars a l’andalusa” which were really good. The pebrot escalivat, patates braves, salads, xipirons.. were ok. As a fan of patatas bravas, the ones served here were really disappointing. Patatas bravas have two sauces: barbecue sauce and alioli. These had some sort of yoghurt sauce with tabasco, which was inappropriate. As a mains we had monkfish tails (some of them had raw parts), arros a la cassola with seafood, and fideuà. The rice and fideuà were ok but nothing too special: a little bit salty and watery, when normally is kind of dry. Crema catalana was really underwhelming. But I heard from others that the lemon sorbet was nice.
Altogether: good atmosphere, good wine, good...
