MEDIACAÑA MERENDERO — Restaurant in Torrox

We visited a restaurant with a beautiful location, right on the beach. Great views. Unfortunately, the eating wasn't so nice. Fried anchovies were average, could have been better done. Price ok. We also ordered SEAFOOD PAELLA based on the photos of other users. Ours didn't look that good, not much seafood. Rubbery squid. No mussels. I asked the waitress if the portion was for two people. She confirmed. I expected to pay €15 for it. They charged €30!!!! This is an absurd price for poor paella. It's the most expensive item on the menu. I do not recommend. Don't order this, it's a scam. I expected a portion for €15 for two people, but instead a portion for two people cost €30. Not worth it! I pointed out this fact to the waitress and said that I felt CHEATED and that I would ask for a deduction of €15, but she said NO. 😡 She even told me that other customers have already complained about this fact, but after explaining it ,they understand everything and pay. Restaurant knew about this and do nothing. I don't understand how you can treat a customer this way. If it costs €30, why write that it costs €15?? 🤯 You have to change the price in the menu or give your money back. Scandal. This is a MUST see restaurant!The food is amazing!!!!! Quick and well served, the food is full of flavor, this restaurant gives you a taste of Torrox Costa. This restaurant has an amazing atmosphere, music and fantastic people, this isn't a restaurant it is an EXPERIENCE!!!. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially Ezekiel, who make our moments amazing, we came back a few times, and everyday was special with food, drinks and different entertainment(such as song covers,traditional Spanish dances and interactive nights with crowd/customers,etc). I would prefer this superb restaurant then any restaurants from the big cities. During the day you can go on the sunbeds and tan yourself, chill, etc and be served food, drinks, etc. In the afternoon you can see the nice sunsets with food, drinks, etc and enjoy the entertainment and music.The restaurant itself is art because there is a handcrafted castle (art piece) in the front and there are a couple other art pieces. We will definitely come back for everything they serve, see...

I wanted to like this place but unfortunately the burger was gross, and the mojito was not a mojito! The burger meat was a slab of meat, and not ground beef. I asked for medium, but it was undercooked. I could not eat it. The cheese was liquid, and they put way too much, that it made the burger fall apart right away. I could not eat it with my hands, I had to use a fork and a knife, and all it tasted like was the gross processed cheddar cheese.

The mojito was literally sprite and lime in a glass. The little bit of mint was placed on top of the drink as garnish. The mojito is supposed to be a lot of mint, with soda water and Rhum, but it was just a sweet sprite, and I returned it and exchanged it for a sangria.

To make things worse when I paid, I wanted to pay in CAD but the waiter did not let me hold the machine and he chose the currency for me.

This was a very bad experience and I will not come back. I've had much better experiences elsewhere so...
