Restaurante La Farola — Restaurant in Torrox

Potatoes covered in mud - they said this was normal! The meal started ok with oysters and tuna tartare on our table right next to the car park. Then the main course came - fish skewer and mixed grill. We both chose baked potatoes but when we took them out of the tin foil they were caked in mud! We talked to the waiter and he said "this is normal". Unwashed vegetables normal? He took them away and scrapped off the mud and skins and brought them back like two large boiled potatoes! No this is wrong. We asked for new jacket potatoes and then two more came - covered in mud! If you can't wash your potatoes before serving then you have to wonder about how clean this place is! We cut into them and one was completely brown inside and inedible and the other had some brown bit inside. By this time the meat and fish were cold and the 0.0 beer warm. When the bill came it was full price. We queried it again and they said they did not charge for potatoes. BUT they were included anyway! The waiter then proceeded to clear the table when we were still sitting and told use to take the water away and finish it elsewhere. They wanted to turn the table. At this point we decided to leave. They were very rude. Money over customer service. On the walk back to the car I started getting stomach pains and this resulted in frequent visits to the loo. Maybe nothing was clean? Beware - if you like clean veg then this place is not for you! Also check your bill as they may add on more for bread, potatoes, vegetables - who know a surcharge for chairs?? Note: We came here before lock down and it was ok so maybe standards have dropped and cleanliness...

We ate twice at this restaurant and I can say the food was excellent and the service impeccable. The waiters and the waitresses were all very kind and nice, but the second time we were there, yesterday August 11th, on my son's birthday, a seemingly random guy who was sitting at the bar took upon him to approach my son and tell him he will take his head off if he touched again my younger boy, his brother. When I asked him who he was, he returned to the bar and continued drinking. One of the waiters told me he is drunk and to not pay attention to him, and offered me a shot to calm me down. Now all of that would be very nice but the guy continued to drink at the bar and they didn't tell him to get out and go away. Very strange and as you can imagine, I'm thinking that this guy has something to do with the mentioned restaurant, and so it could be something habitual. Be as it may, that was a very poor reaction of the staff after me spending 147 euros and tipping g them with another 10 euros. If you want descent food, the place is great, but have it delivered. The atmosphere is not something I would want my kids to experience...

Restaurante con buena vistas a la playa ,buena comida a buen precio, pero....No sé cuántas veces hemos ido esperando a ver si no ocurre lo de siempre y por desgracia ocurre. Pides mesa para las 14.45 y te sientas a las 15.30, antes sientan a sus amigos, lo hablan delante tuya como si fuéramos sordos. Luego tardan en venir a pedirte que quieres beber y comer, otro 15 minutos, La comida si llega bien y a la hora de cobrar otra vez esperando 35 minutos la cuenta, no me he ido por educación y respeto y para colmo le he pedido la cuenta a todos los camareros que pasaban, estos mas pendientes de arreglar las mesas para la cena que de estar atento al cliente, entre ellos con griitos y risas. Una vez traída la cuenta, espera otros 5 minutos a que venga con el datáfono y cómo van a cerrar ni bombones ni chupitos que le ponen a todos (no tienen porque hacerlo, pero queda mal a unos si y otros ,supongo que habrá sido por las prisas), hemos comido dos y he pagado 58 euros, pero se ve que la pareja de all lado necesitaba más atención porque la langosta y el champán lo requiere, a esta pareja extranjera no le ha faltado un detalle, ninguno, siempre atentos a los dos,

Una pena porque se come muy muy bien y a un precio normal y con buenos productos, de hay que hayamos ido a menudo esperando ese cambio del personal .Pero el trato no ha sido bueno ni profesional. Si vuelvo a ir que lo dudo, porque hemos ido en pareja ,con los hijos, con amigos y en familia.y anteriormente ha sido parecido, hoy ha sido ya una barbaridad, llegue a las 14 50 y he salido a las 17.20..

PD: Se que no cobrasteis las dos cervezas de la barra, es lo mínimo por estar 30 minutos esperando la mesa. Como digo se espera porque cocinas muy bien y el producto es de calidad, eso no quita el resto del comentario. Y es evidente que me fijé al de al lado mi izquierda, ya que al de la derecha no le hicisteis caso como a mí, como por ejemplo ni preguntar que queríamos de postre o un café, por eso no hay foto de los postres, no lo ofrecieron y lo único que reseñó y pido es el mismo trato que al resto, pero veo que las críticas no la lleváis muy bien. Pues nada estába todo genial, un 10.

Así que comereis bien, pero armaros de paciencia porque perdereis medio día allí, ir sin prisas y rezar que no os toque al lado el extranjero que estarán atento en todo y tú acabarás...
