Let’s be honest, finding good food in tourist areas often is a bit of a pain. You get the ‘local’ dishes but they just aren’t all that good. Well if you find yourself in Torre Del Mar then turn your back on the Chiringuitas by the beach front and walk a few steps away from the Paseo up the street from the lighthouse. Here on the left side of the road you will find a small family run restaurant that doesn’t look special or tourist like. There are no German or English menus and the only non-Spanish food are 3 pasta dishes… But go there! The owner specializes in matured beef and he knows his business! The piece of grass fed beef from Asturia had been aged for a total of 90 days And melted in the mouth. I have had a lot of good beef but this frankly was the best. Forget Waygu for a minute and go try his Cote du bouef or Entrcote as they call the same cut here in Spain - and follow his recommendations for wine, starters - well everything! We will definitely be coming here again next time we are anywhere near...
