Mirch Masala Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Vélez-Málaga

My wife and I went for a meal there this evening, Although the food was good, we were very disappointed with the service, we ordered a drink each and the meal arrived which we enjoyed, after we finished the main meal the plates were cleared we were not asked if we wanted a sweet when the waitress cleared the table, I was not asked if I would like to order more drinks, quite a while passed and both the waiter and the waitress walked past our table several times looking straight ahead not looking to see if we in fact wanted a sweet etc. after waiting quite some time to see if we would be asked I decided to ask for the bill and leave as we were feeling like we were being ignored. On the table beside us the couple were asked if they wanted a chupito, which they did and it was served when they paid their bill. we was not offered the same, The restaurant was not busy at all during the time that we were there and no excuse as to why. At one point I believe it was the manager did ask if our meal was ok. This was our first visit and we certainly left with a very poor opinion .My wife has worked in restaurants for many years as a manager and we owned a cafeteria, so we feel that we know what to expect in the way of service. and this was far below our expectations. with lots of very good eating establishments in Torre Del Mar there are lots of places to choose and get...

3rd time here having raved about this place to friends, unfortunately we caught out attendee in a bad mood which slowly improved through the evening… anyway the reason to be there was the quality of food, which certainly is excellent and not only didn’t disappoint but in fact exceeded our expectations and will ensure a return visit in September when we are in the area again for the airshow… best curry outside of Fuengirola!!

2025 updated, visited a few times this summer & the new staff are certainly more professional & client facing, so I’ve given 5x across the board. Went here last night with my wife and two friends, first time here, in fact the first Indian restaurant I have been to for over 30 years, and what a pleasant surprise. The restaurant was light and airy, nicely decorated ( no flock wallpaper and gaudy lights), and the tables were large and well spaced out. The excellent service was delivered by very friendly and attentive staff. The food was obviously freshly prepared using fresh herbs and nicely balanced spices. I had a gambas Jalfrezi which had some heat but not overpowering, and my wife the chicken tika masala which she thoroughly enjoyed.
