Misushi - Sushi Torre del Mar — Restaurant in Vélez-Málaga

Despite the high rating in Google we should have taken a clue when there was no one at the restaurant at 2:30 on a Friday. The decor was nice and the place was clean. Unfortunately there were a lot of flies and we probably killed 5 while sitting there. Basically every item you ordered on the menu seem to of come out of a box from the freezer and been warmed up. We were nervous about the sushi and try to simple California roll. And of course It had fake krab but it tasted mildly vinegar and was just not good. The miso got a mixed review from our family. It had cilantro which turned me off immediately. The chicken teriyaki was frozen breaded cheap cuts of chicken drenched in a sticky cheap sauce. Honestly, I have no idea why the reviews are so high. We've been coming to this place intermittently over several years... At one point it seemed to improve marginally, but now it is at an all time low. I have just got home and can't sleep until I write a review, the experience was so terrible from start to finish. Starters (spring rolls, ebi prawns etc) are all frozen, and even still somehow tasted very off. Maki rolls fell apart as soon as they were touched. A simple vegetarian noodle dish was greasy and tasted of rotten meat/veg. The food came out suspiciously quickly (several minutes?!) and the waiter was unpleasant and uninterested. Something has gone wrong. Previous reviews are quite good. My wife and I went on an early Saturday evening and whereas the food was fine, the service was absolutely awful. The waitress had a poor grasp of Spanish and none of English. She was unable to advise us for first time users and then it got worse. One starter and the main courses arrived together. The second starter arrived after we had finished eating. Service was summed up by the entire staff sitting down to dinner at the other side of the restaurant, totally ignoring our presence. Our table was not cleared, desserts were not offered and I had to interrupt their dinner in order to get the bill. If you want quality oriental food at decent prices, try the nearby Hong Kong or the Siam2...
