Restaurante La Cocina de Antonio — Restaurant in Vélez-Málaga

We had eaten here before and enjoyed a good meal but today our lunch was dreadful. We were the only clients so no excuse! We both ordered the Pluma Ibérica which was on the specials menu. My friends pork was raw, not pink raw, mine was cooked but they were both full of gristle and were not edible. We asked for vegetables and we were given mushrooms and artichokes which are both on the menu sautéed but they tasted like they had been sautéed the day before and reheated. When we showed the waiter that my friend’s pork was raw he said that was how it should be! So why was mine cooked through? Pork should never be served raw. I said that we were not happy at all with the pork which was €24 pp but the waiter wasn’t bothered and there was no apology. We will never visit this...

Tonight was our last night in Torre del Mar and I was searching Google for a nice restaurant to close off our holiday. Restaurante La Cocina de Antonio ticked every box for us! Excellent food and service from our lovely waiter (José?) he catered to our every need and did so with genuine hospitality and humor! A perfect end to our week in this lovely seaside town! We don't know when, but we most definitely will be back and we hope José will be there and once again bring a smile to our face!...

Lugar muy acogedor , con mucho estilo y clase. Excelente servicio y cocinero espectacular, platos exquisitos con una presentación para concurso, productos de alta calidad de la zona y de temporada. Por resaltar algunos platos su ensalada de la casa con aguacate, cogollos , bonito del norte...etc, el revuelto de bacalao, las croquetas caseras de bacalao y langostinos, su jamón ibérico y dejad un hueco para los postres caseros auténticos, arroz con leche, tocino de cielo , mousse de turrón, tarta de queso y sobre todo la mousse de mango un auténtico delirio, todo preparado por Antonio propietario y cocinero de este restaurante que junto a Vito su mujer te hacen sentir como en casa. Sin duda el mejor restaurante que he pisado en años, auténtica cocina de autor. Volveremos sin duda e intentaremos llevar a nuestros amigos.Por cierto los camareros muy atentos sobre todo José Antonio que nos atendió...
