Taberna Mogador Torre Del Mar — Restaurant in Vélez-Málaga

The staff was not very responsive in terms of service and were not helpful at all. They failed to mention which side dishes that they ran out of and subsituted it without notice. It took a long time to get food, even salt was hard to get as they kept ignoring our table despite calling out to the waiter. The bread wasn't fresh at all, and the food was ok. The food there isn't worth the price they put it as since the service isn't really there. We were also forced to sit on the extremely windy patio without a heater, apparently this was due to the fact that we did not make a reservation. The only reason why I'm giving this 2 stars and not 1 is only because the food wasn't that bad but everything else...

This is an excellent cozy restaurant offering something different with a Morrocan flavour. Bright Moorish style decor gives the place a warm feeling. The food is excellent and flavoursome and is served piping hot on hot plates, something many restaurants seem unable to do. Excellent value and beware the generous portions, which you may need to share in most cases. The staff are very friendly and create a fun and welcoming atmosphere. Situado en pleno centro de Torre del Mar, este restaurante nos ofrece una carta en la que predominan las especialidades marroquíes, aunque también cuenta con otros muchos platos. Acudimos para comer y nos decidimos por media ensalada de aguacate, una ración de croquetas caseras de gambas y puerros, una mini hamburguesa de ternera y dos triángulos rellenos de ternera estilo Mogador. Con dos tanques de cerveza y dos refrescos, una cuenta de 43 € para tres personas. Todo hubiera sido perfecto, ya que la comida era abundantísima, de buenísima calidad y a un precio más que razonable; sin embargo la atención no estuvo a la altura, aunque fue muy amable cometieron un fallo imperdonable. Llegamos temprano y no había ninguna mesa ocupada; una vez que pedimos, los platos fueron llegando en un tiempo razonable, pero nos faltaba uno de los triángulos de ternera; lo reclamamos y nos dijeron que venía en seguida, pero no llegaba; de hecho comenzaron a servir plato de triángulos a mesas que se habían ocupado bastante después que la nuestra; después de reclamarlos por tercera o cuarta vez nos dijo el camarero que se habían agotado y tenían que prepararlos de nuevo, con lo que éste último plato nos llegó cuarenta minutos después de que hubiéramos acabado el último. Le hubiera dado los cinco puntos sin dudar, pero después de este desmadre, creo que dándole tres ya soy...
