La Esquinita — Restaurant in Vega de San Mateo

We went there because of the good reviews here and were highly disappointed. Food was almost inedible even though we were starving. This was the worst meal I've had in Gran Canaria and whole Spain, even though it was the "recommendation" meal of the house. Additionally, it was the most expensive meal I've had here, prices are generally medium to rather high in this place. Anyways, I want to highlight positively that the service was good. Thus, I feel very sorry to write about this negative experience because the staff was very friendly, but I cannot recommend...

This was by far the worst meal I've ever ordered at a restaurant. Let me elaborate.

The waiters did a decent job. They were friendly and were smiling a lot. The food however was horrendous. We ordered the recommendation of the house and we barely could eat anything off our plates. It was just unbearable. My girlfriend even got sick from it at night.

We were just so happy to leave.

Edit 20/02/19: I just remembered this. This is still by far the most horrible meal I've ever received at...

I'm sorry but it was disgusting. There was an insect INSIDE our papas arrugadas. We ordered the Enchiladas famosas (recommended by the restaurant) and were super excited and hungry. Absoluteley disappointing. DO NOT RECOMMEND. I think the picture speaks for itself.

The waiters were super kind btw but sadly didn't make up for the horrible food....
