Feeling Vilanova — Restaurant in Vilanova i la Geltrú

Entered and asked the man at the bar if he spoke English. At this point most people here smile and say "a little" and we stumble though getting something ordered. The bartender muttered something about "Americans" and then gave a firm "No" and just stared through us. We almost left at this point.

A friendly server came over and invited us to a table. His English was amazing. The food was great, specifically the fries which seem to be triple cooked - absolutely delicious.

The bill was interesting. The drinks were fairly expensive but that's to be expected. They had added a "Lipton". Google translate failed me on that so I asked the server what it was. He went away and after what seemed like an argument with the bartender, a new bill was presented without the Lipton. The bill included a 10% service charge, but we left the €3 change anyway as the server had been so friendly.

We probably would go back just because the food was so good, but I would watch out for the bartender that clearly hates his job / tourists. Perhaps it's because they force him to wear a Pepsi...

I was there with my son in April 2023. We were on our way to Barcelona airport and had a break there. The restaurant is beautifully located. The food is enjoyable but not much better. But the people are very unfriendly. I left my jacket on the chair. After 2 days, I wrote to them and asked them to send it back to me in a package. Of course I would pay you everything, including the effort. I was assured again and again that they would send it, but they were so stressed. Now it's been over 6 months and they haven't sent it back, they just don't care. I would be ashamed and would never go...

Pues resulta que reservamos mesa para celebrar la cena de Navidad por adelantado, cual fue nuestra sorpresa al llegar allí??? K teníamos la mesa preparada en mitad de la Sala, dicha Sala llena de gente viendo el fútbol, con un cumpleaños al Fondo y gente pasando constantemente por detrás nuestra dándonos golpes a las sillas! Encuentro lógico k no puedan cerrar la Sala solo para nosotros pero... Podrían haber avisado de k estaríamos rodeados de muchísimo ruido, k había fútbol y más gente de celebración, porque la verdad que fue muy incómoda la situación! La verdad que almenos la comida estubo bien. Pues no obstante cuando acabamos de cenar decidimos seguir allí las primeras copas en la terraza y todo fue genial hasta que una compañera tuvo que salir del establecimiento por tema personal y a la vuelta no la dejaron entrar los de Seguridad xk no llevaba el DNI e insistían en que era menor de edad y que ese local es para mayores de 21!! La chica fue a buscar el DNI al coche después de que los vigilantes se lo pidieran y al enseñarselo la empezaron a vacilar diciéndole: DNI? Carnet de conducir? Partida de nacimiento???.... Mi compañera al sentirse vacilado ya no les quiso enseñar el bolso porque menuda falta de respeto tuvieron con ella, así k no la dejaron entrar y decidimos irnos todos a otro local más barato en copas y sin tantas normas inventadas para fastidiar al cliente! La verdad que no se que necesidad había de tratar así a la chica cuando estábamos todos allí tomando algo y pasandolo bien! Así que fue un cúmulo de cosas que nos tiraron para atrás para futuras cenado...
