Miramar Restaurante — Restaurant in Xàbia / Jávea

We stopped in for lunch. It was very busy which we took to be a good sign. There was no staff to greet and seat so we found an empty table and sat down. We waited for about 15 minutes before a pleasant waitress arrived with some menus. The tables all seemed to need a good clean and were sticky. The condiment set was also a little bit in need of attention, the vinegar was very cloudy indicating that it was probably not that fresh. The oil bottle also was a little "gungy" around the top. Ordering was easy and the waitress was initially attentive. However, as things began to arrive on our table we found we were having to put things on the floor beside us to give us enough room to use what we needed to. I had to ask 3 times for a plate to enable me to eat what had been served. Our food was all of a fairly good standard although a couple of things that we ordered were not available and we had to re choose. All in all it was a reasonable lunch and for a reasonable price. I think I would return again but I do prefer other places we have been to in the same area. I would have given an extra star if it had been a little cleaner with less stickiness and fresh well looked after condiments. To summarise not a bad lunch, not a bad price and...

From the end of October until mid December 2024 I came to this place regulary, I have been present several times a week and have been able to use the facilities to do some work on my laptop. Every time, I consumed when I was there. See screenshots of my bankstatement. Currently, I am back in Javea and asked if I could work for an hour, but unfortunately, that I, due to Ramadan, couldn't consume anything. The response was negative, because they would get problems with their boss and I tried to explain that I could come back later in the evening for diner when the sun is down, but even then, the response was negative. The place was empty, so why make a fuss? I am a returning customer, and I have proven that. By allowing me to work for an hour, you gain goodwill from a loyal customer. Even my suggestion to come back at 7 PM to consume and to have a diner was not accepted. The staff knew me because I came here frequently, show understanding, be hospitable, and you will get twice as much in return. Learn from this!

The restaurant seemed very promising on entering but sadly failed to deliver. We were told on entry of some items missing from the menu Del dia. Sadly the starter of mussels and main of rice were my wife’s first choice. Nevertheless we ordered. The starters we shared. Fried Camembert with cranberry sauce and a salad were actually very good. My wife ordered teulapia with chips, described on the board as Fish and chips which clearly it is but if you are English then it isn’t if you understand my twisted logic. I ordered steak. Both these dishes were underwhelming . The steak needed a sauce of some description to lift it, even the cheaper places inland tend to offer pepper sauce at least. Finally came the dessert, we were offered carrot cake or cafe! Hardly a selection. Maybe they were short of supplies as it was a Monday, The price for two was €32 . Location is good and so are the staff. Could be a lot better and does not need much to...
