Sharing a review from a friend... Went out for my husbands birthday last night to Casa Katy in Jalon. We booked a table previously, We sat inside close to the kitchen area, most tables were outside across the road. The owner was training a new waitress. We noticed the tension with the new waitress who seemed very nice, the owners daughter was very confrontational and not very helpful. The service was very slow, we waited more than an hour for the starter, during that time on several occasions we asked for bread and more drinks, evry time we asked for something we were met by aggression, it got the point where we were afraid to ask for anything. When we finally got the starter which was prawns in garlic, we asked for some bread and she ignored us, we asked again and she said Im busy I told you to wait at which point my guest just said, I only want some bread!! at this time my husband reiterated that we just wanted bread and why was she being so obstructive. She now screamed and lost her temper. My husband said give me the bill we have had enough of this abuse and asked for the complaint book at which point she said we dont have one. We then said call the police which she did. The police arrived and suddenly this abusive rude girl started crying as though we were the aggresors, this was not true. Cutting a long story short we told the police officer what had happened and that we were not going to pay, we asked for the Gaurdia who apparently were busy and unable to attend. At this point in front of the local police she screamed at us " Pay me my money" we said NO! we havent eaten youve ruined our evening. She then Got a bottle of red wine and threw it at us, just missing one of my friends one of whom has Parkinsons , narrowly missing his wife and my husband, the bottle wine hurled through the air smashing on the opposite wall. We were all very shaken by this. We have never been treated like this in any restaurant anywhere. The mother who was in the kitchen also came out screaming at us. These are the genuine Spice Girls. A meal that will be remembered for a long time. The menu del dia in Casa Caty is excellent. If you're looking for fabulous food, full of flavour and piping hot then Casa Caty is the place for you. A familyrun business with Mama in the kitchen and her somellier daughter out front running the show, aided by very friendly wait staff. We started with hot bread rolls with aioli stuffed peppers in spicy tomato sauce and "the best meatballs ever' to quote my other half. One taste of each and we knew that we were in for an amazing meal. Mains were Lamb Shank with prunes almonds, mixed veg and fried potatoes and Sole Meuniere with the same sides. Both dishes were absolutely outstanding. The fish was cooked to perfection and the lamb just fell off the bone. The chef de patron of this restaurant is a sauce genius and produces the most favoursome food with her magic mix of Moroccan spices. We also have it on very good authority that the vegetarian options are just as special. The menu is completed by a choice of desert or coffee. The first time we went there we were told we had to order the Tagine the day before so we wouldn’t have to wait too long. We did that and went in the next day for lunch. We waited for over an hour for our dish to arrive and when I asked the Owner if there was a problem she snapped at me Rudely and told me I just had to wait! I told her I was sorry to bother her and she said “I’ve seen people like you before!” We have given the restaurant a try a couple of times since then and were very disappointed in how she treated us! Anytime we would politely ask for something she would snap with an attitude, you just have to wait! The service is extremely slow! She even went so far as to tell the other waitress to be rude to us also. There’s no wine list and when we were prompted to order a bottle of wine they charged us a very high price for one of the local bottles!
