A++ — Restaurant in Southern Province

Found this quaint yet busy cafe while walking around in search of dinner at Coral Beach. The cafe is located right next to the beach, in a shack. The ambience is quite great here and the slow living with beach waves hitting the shore is a sight to behold. We ordered a few beers, Onion Rings and Devilled Chicken. The Onion Rings were crispy and served as a great side for beer and the Devilled Chicken was devoured hot and at best. Mr. Kavindu, who manages the cafe here is a great chap. I had a great time listening to his stories and telling mine. He also suggested some not-so-popular and quaint places to visit in and around Mirissa which offer breathtaking views. The restrooms were clean and the music was vibey. The only nitpicking I want to do here is that the service was quite late after we placed our order and that's about it. I wouldnt recommend to visit this place if your a local Sri lankan. They only give importance to the tourists. Its atleast understandable if the food was delivered within 30 mins. Me and 3 of my friends headed to this place very hungry on the 1st of Jan 2024 after a big night out on 31st. We ordered few beverages and some items on the menu. I personally ordered grilled chicken tacos. They took atleast 25 mins to deliver the drinks and 1 hour 15 mins to deliver the food while they delivered the food to the tourist who came after us. The tacos were not eatable because the grilled chicken was burnt and it tasted bitter. I did not eat more than half the taco. I dont understand why they do this and it was my first meal of the year which was very disappointing.
