The “allergies” argument is not supported by science. Allergic reactions to dogs are typically triggered by prolonged exposure to dander proteins (Can f 1, Can f 2) in domestic environments where these particles accumulate over time. Walking into a restaurant with a dog present does not suddenly trigger an allergic crisis for the general population. Scientific studies (e.g., Arbes et al., Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 2005) show that allergen concentration in public spaces is minimal and far below levels associated with severe reactions.

If allergies were really the issue, how do countries like Italy, France, Austria, and Germany—where dogs are welcomed in thousands of restaurants daily—manage just fine? Do people with allergies magically disappear across those borders? Clearly not.

What this policy reflects is not medical necessity, but personal preference dressed up as “science.” Dogs don’t generate allergens out of thin air simply by entering a closed space, and pretending otherwise is misleading...

I have been at Moccadeli today and ordered a Salsiccia pizza and their monthly pasta, the Linguine Nduja Di Burrata. The pizza was good, and although the chili on the menu was not very spicy, it still added a nice touch of flavor. The Linguine Nduja Di Burrata pasta was decent, but in my opinion, it didn't quite have the quality of a restaurant-style pasta dish. The cheese, which was advertised on the menu, was not the same as what was served. However, the dish was still enjoyable. It paired well with Syrah (red wine). Overall, I would say that Moccadeli is an okay to a perfect restaurant. While the pasta dish didn't quite meet my expectations, the pizza was definitely a highlight.
