My husband and I just moved to this neighborhood, and as huge pizza lovers, we were really excited to try this place. It’s right around the corner, so we thought it could become our go-to spot. But after this experience, that’s not happening.
We went on Friday, and from the moment we arrived, it was like we weren’t even there. We stood at the entrance, waiting to be acknowledged (as instructed), but even though the staff saw us multiple times, they just ignored us. My husband even walked inside, stood there in plain sight, and still—nothing.
After a while, he went up to a waitress and asked for the menu himself. She handed it to him, and he told her we’d be sitting outside, since all the inside tables were taken. The restaurant wasn’t empty, but it also wasn’t crowded or chaotic—just a normal evening with people already eating inside. Outside, there was only one other couple besides us. It was a calm atmosphere, no visible pressure on the staff.
We sat down, picked our order, and waited. And waited. And waited. No one came. Not a single person. The other couple outside was being served, but we were completely overlooked. I even watched as the waiters dropped off pizzas at their table, glanced at us, and walked right back inside.
After 25 minutes of sitting there completely ignored, I finally went inside and told them we had been waiting for a long time and were leaving. The waitress didn’t even look surprised. She just took the menus from my hands and said, “Sorry, we are busy today.”
Busy? The tables inside were full, sure, but the restaurant was far from packed. There was no rush, no chaos—just a complete lack of effort. From the moment we arrived, there was no welcome, no greeting, no smiles, no warmth—nothing. It wasn’t just slow service—it was no service at all.
They lose people who could have become loyal customers.
Luckily, we ended up finding another Italian restaurant nearby, with great service and amazing pizza. No Instagram hype, just good food and warm, friendly service.
Safe to say, that’s where we’ll be going...
Read moreIt's not hard to make a pizza but it's a challenge to make it into art. I ordered Maggan to go with extra ham during the lunch time. The service was polite and welcoming. They notice you right away and take care of you with smile and kindness. I was told to have to wait 20min and I waited exactly that. A little long perhaps but considering the restaurant was full I didn't have much of a problem with that. The pizza was exquisite. Whoever's responsible for putting together the menu knows what they're doing. I don't like pizza so much but I definitely appreciate good food and whilst I didn't think there was much to reinvent in the pizza department, I was pleasantly surprised. The favours complement each other perfectly, and the ingredients are as fresh as they can be. I got ham on the side and I loved that there was plenty of it. The price isn't as jaw dropping as everyone seems to think. 135kr at at lunch time is acceptable considering the quality. The place beautifully set although for me too noisy and crowded hence took a takeout. Will be...
Read moreAn allegedly pizza joint with a very bistro feel. We saw it advertised as a pizza place, but, on arrival, found the buzzing atmosphere more typical of an Italian (or UK) bistro. We had always thought of Swedes as conservative - very polite, but reserved. Mastio disabused us of that theory. It could have been any well run bistro in a more southerly latitude with staff to match.
The pizzas were far from the typical offering, with 4 very distinct flavours on offer, together with rather acceptable wines. Limoncello was, unfortunately, missing though. I gather that the owner was a winner of the local MasterChef competition, and it shows.
It must be a yachtie's dream as it overlooked the inner harbour with, apparently, spare berths for hungry visitors.
Well worth a visit, but booking in advance is well...
