Expensive and a good long wait, although barely any guests present. Unfortunately this is to be considered a low level sushi place. The rice was poorly cooked. Sticky and doughlike, giving that gluey stickyness between your teeth, although still slightly hard somehow and a bit warm. Baked into uneven ball like shapes. The fish didn't present any kind of scary smell but it was warm too. I'd say room temperature plus, cut unevenly and every piece was gray/whitish from being torched or something adding a strange hard surface that had me looking for pieces of remaining fish skin or something, not to be found.
The garnish was thrown on, a little or this and a little or that here and there...
I'd say this is to be compared with asian buffet-sushi. Too bad, really. Had high hopes. Norrtälje is in need of good food places. Not another sloppy but pricey restaurant. They have to choose here....
Read moreSushi was alright, not bad but not amazing. There was too much faff on the plate though, I guess it's to decorate the plate but found it unnecessary. My hubby who ordered karagee chicken picked a lot of stuff of of his plate, which seemed to mask his small portion (a whole wedge of pineapple amongst other things).
Then there was the choice of adding citrus to the miso soup.... not sure why, I guess it's their own spin on it, but in our opinion it just didn't work.
We probably won't be back if I'm honest, I can find sushi for the same quality and price range without having to 'uncover' it by walking just a few minutes to Looi sushi.
The service was nice though, and that's always a big plus and something worth...
Read moreA pearl of unexpected delight in the heart of Norrtälje. This is a must for hungry visitors to the small town of Norrtälje, unpretentious, unpredictably excellent Asian with a twist including Mexican street food. My favorites is a chicken mirage bowls, but the sushi is delicate and delightful plated. Seriously if you can make to eat in one place you in Norrtälje make it here....
