Stepping into Don Dolores in central Skellefteå feels like taking a small trip to Italy right in the heart of Sweden. They offer a lovely selection of pizzas made in true Italian style, with fresh ingredients and authentic toppings such as Italian prosciutto and burrata. The dough is perfectly baked, and you can really taste the quality in every bite.

Besides pizza, they also serve antipasti, pasta, and burgers – all nicely prepared and far above what you would expect from an ordinary pizzeria. The drink menu is another highlight, with a good variety of Italian wines, quality beers, and well-made cocktails that perfectly complement the food.

The interior is warm and cozy, making it a great place for an evening with friends or a relaxed date. The staff are friendly and professional, which adds to the good experience. The only thing I would suggest is to make the atmosphere a bit livelier with a more varied or upbeat music selection.

As for the dessert – it was a bit unclear what cake options were available, but that just gives me a reason to come back and check next time.

For starters, waited over an hour for food. I ordered the ’Lilla culturale’ pasta, which is essentially a tomato sauce pasta with stacciatella cheese. When I received this dish, over an hour later, it didn’t even have the stracciatella, so I had to ask for it to be sent back. There was no ‘side salad’ as mentioned, this was just an assortment of salad leaves, underneath the dish. We had no napkins, we had to request these, even though every other table had them, which was necessary for my partner who was eating a pizza. Side note - everyone else had proper cloth napkins and we were hesitantly given paper ones. All in all, we were feeling pretty hard done by for the price tag of this dinner experience. When I went to pay, the waitress was defensive and told me “it was a Friday night in Skellefteå and to be expected”. I was told that there was nothing that could be done and no considerations taken for my poor experience. I was even given attitude when requesting a receipt of my bill. När jag och mitt sällskap var där var pastan slut. Ett vin en i sällskapet ville ha var slut. De har LAKTO-vegetariska måltider på menyn, men den enda vegetariska (eller veganska) rätten de kunde göra var en pizza margarita men den veganska mozzarellan var slut. Jag frågade om de kunde lägga på någonting på den, grönsaker, svamp, oliver ja vad som helst men jag fick 4 basilikablad och vegansk ”vanlig” ost. Pizzabotten var seg och god, men pizzan i sig var inte alls rolig, kostade också fullpris 219 kr. Sen fick vi vänta nästan en timma innan vi blev serverade och man fick inget bröd eller tilltugg under tiden man väntade vilket jag hade förvänt mig på en sån fin restaurang. Det var en jättemysig atmosfär! Personalen frågade inte heller om man ville ha kaffe eller dessert efter maten och vi upplevde det svårt att få kontakt med dem. Jag kommer inte att återvända.
