Bengal Diner — Restaurant in Stockholm

First of all I really do not know why some of these reviews are giving such low ratings, as I have had the complete opposite experience. Earlier tonight my girlfriend and I decided to come in and try the place. We were warmly greeted by the owner an hour from closing time, who welcomed us in for a table. The food was excellent and so was the presentation. I used to be a manager and waiter at a Bangal/Indian cuisine for many years and this is the closest to authentic you will get in Stockholm. I have no complaints. The owner was friendly and even gave us an extra mango lasi and tea for free. I had the chicken byriani and paneer nan. The chicken biryani was cooked to perfection and marinated in tikka sauce which is traditional for Bengali and Indian food. It had perfect texture flavor and presentation. The paneer nan was definitely made fresh in the tandoori by request. What I also appreciate is that they use actual Indian paneer not store bought cheese. Believe me there is a difference. My mother and I went there on a sunny day and ordered Lamb Saagh and Lamb Vindaloo. The sauce was excellent and so was the service. However, the pieces of meat that were thrown into our stews were not so appetizing. I don't know if they were uncooked or if they simply threw in the meat that they usually do not serve. So i was unfortunately disappointed. Perhaps it's better to order the dishes without the meat in them...

We have taken the catering service of Bengal diner and must say it was FANTASTIC !!! We had around 15 guests and all of them loved the food. Lamb biriyani, Veg Thali, Garlic Naaan, Paneer Tikka masala and Samosa was in the menu and each food item was really good.
