I would have rated this hotel much better based on the rooms and the comfort of the beds but there were a few things which I will outline below.||||There was no indication of where to go in an emergency. Most hotels have the famous gree signs with a person on them or an exit sign. They are most of the time light up. They normally work even when the power fails.||||There was no fire escape. I walked around the floor and could not find any fire exit. The only way out would have been the stair and I was in room 20 which was on the 2nd floor and a reasonable distance from the stairs. I looked out the window of my room and it would be fatal to jump out at the height it was. There was no alternative except the stairs and then no sign to send you to the right door exit.||||There were no smoke or fire alarms. I have been in a hotel where there was a fire and the smoke and fire alarms failed to work but I managed to get out.||||The television did not work on all the channels. I had to reprogram it myself. When I calledd the reception the owner's wife did offer to replace the television with one from another room. It was 22.00 and it did not make sense.||||The internet connection is good and the general state of the hotel is good.||||The breakfast had one thing which I really appreciated, fresh strawberries and I mean fresh. They tased great. I was impressed. Otherwise the breakfast was just about neither bade nor good.||||I would not recommend it on safety...

Read moreAccommodations: Although not very large, our room was a comfortable size with a balcony. However, the bathroom is VERY small. The room was clean and serviced on a daily basis. The hotel provides free Wifi and a breakfast buffet (the buffet was included in our room rate).||||Conveniently located to the Interlaken West train station.... just a 5 or 10 minute walk. There are plenty of restaurants, cafes and places to shop.. all within walking distance.||||The staff, especially the owner is extremely helpful and offers wonderful suggestions for sightseeing. During the time we were at the hotel, the weather was extremely warm so the owner purchased fans for the guest's use. ||||Notes/Suggestions: There is no air conditioning and no elevator. We did have assistance with our luggage on arrival; however, there was no one to assist on checking out. Carrying heavy luggage down flights of stairs is somewhat inconvenient. Suggestion: It would be nice if there was a coffee pot in the room or lobby for early...
