Restaurant Landhus — Restaurant in Allschwil

I recently visited Restaurant Landhaus with a group of 5 people. Unfortunately, our experience was quite disappointing.

Food: The quality of the food was consistently below par. All dishes which we ordered lacked flavor or were poorly prepared. The spaghetti sauce tasted like ketchup, the mushroom risotto was bland, and the fish tasted like it was fried in old oil. The salmon came with an uncomplimentary sauce we weren't asked about, and the steak was overcooked and tough.

Service: The service was slow and inattentive. We waited a significant amount of time (65 minutes) for our food to arrive, and there were no apologies for the delay. To make matters worse, after we finished our meal, we were rushed to pay because the waiter "needed a break."

Location: The restaurant's only saving grace is its location. It's situated in a central spot within the old town and has a nice appearance from the outside. However, this doesn't make up for the shortcomings in food and service.

Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to others. There are many other restaurants in the area that offer a much better dining experience. I only awarded 2 stars solely for the restaurant's location and outside seating...

A very atmospheric restaurant in an 18th century building with a large, pleasant outside dining area. We had a rösti, which was excellent. Service was helpful and friendly with help in English to explain the dishes. The restaurant is easily accessible from the centre of Basel by taking tram #6 to the end...

Ich habe ein Kleine Portion Bestellt Gar Punkt midium.Die erstrn par bisse waren o.k.als das Fleisch etwas dicker wurde war es blutig. Habe den Service gerufen und sagte das zu blutig ist. Sie verstand mich nicht erst als ich auf Französchis redete verstand sie mich. Ich sagte ihr das ich eine kleine Portion bestellt habe. Meinte sie das Pferdesteak gibt es nicht kleine Portion. Da meinte ich das hätte sie mir sagen müsse. Da platze mir dem kragen. Ich verlangte den Chef. Auch ein Elsässer. Ich beschwerte mich das man beim Service nicht Deutsch sprechen kann geht gar nicht. Und auch das man mich nicht aufmerksam gemacht hat das es keine kleine Portion gibt obwohl es auf Menu karte steht. Als ich ginge meinte der Chef ich soll mal in Basel ins Restaurant gehen dort sprechen auch nicht alle Deutsch. Nun für mich ist klar ich gehe...
