Not sure from where to start but have to say service needs asap a customer training. Couple of months ago it was ok when I was there but food is not worth michelin star nor the price. Views are incredible and the terrace. Now we went again.. had reservation which they couldnt find (we had confirmation) and they were super rude(not sure if it was an off day for them) . Not even trying to resolve nor apologize for inconvenience but literally not even an ounce of trying to find something so we left to a different place. If you want to put it on Instagram for pics then this is your spot but if you are here for food and experience run. Much better spots on the slopes. Hope you all fix this as for such a fine dining spot on such a spot it is...

"The Japanese by the Chedi Andermatt" is truly an experience. It offers very authentic Japanese cuisine in a unique ambiance. Both the terrace and the stylish interior of the restaurant invite you to relaxed hours with a breathtaking mountain panorama. We keep coming back to the restaurant mainly because of Giuseppe. As the restaurant manager, he creates a welcoming atmosphere and advises not only on the food but also ensures that you have the perfect wine or sake pairing for each course. His knowledge and the art of his storytelling take the experience to the next level. We look forward to our next visit...

We had an incredible experience at The Japanese at Gütsch in Andermatt! 🇯🇵 We enjoyed the 5-course menu, and every single dish was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious – a perfect balance of flavor, texture, and creativity.

The view from the restaurant is breathtaking, and the gondola ride up to the Gütsch made the whole experience even more special. The atmosphere is calm and elegant, and the service was very professional and friendly.

Overall, a truly unique fine dining experience — combining exceptional Japanese cuisine with stunning mountain scenery. Highly...

Food was good the set menu dinner for 5 courses was insufferably slow. An hour and a half into the meal and we had not gotten to the main course. Wait staff was professional, a bit cool and not personable. I personally felt unwelcome. This was probably the main reason that drive my action to leave. Maybe I should have expected the portions to be small which they were but honestly if you stay at the Chedi go to the restaurant not the Japanese. We left. As we were leaving I was told “but we have a Michelin star”, as if that alone should change my mind.

Worth it just for the incredible unusual setting, but the food is great too. Japanese in the Swiss Alps felt incongruous, but it’s an experience. The staff were especially good, very fun and friendly, especially for a fine dining restaurant. Good menu, excellent caviar selection. Enjoyed the meal but the food was the least special bit- loved the views, the sound of the cattle bells, the clean air and the setting. worth a visit.
