I come here from time to time. Last Saturday when I was here it was really good. Compared to the last few times it wasn't really special. The chicken was always a bit too dry. The sauce tastes same same as always. I always order the spicy sauce with an extra portion of sauce. This time again, but the employee somehow forgot that we ordered extra sauce. I told her and she just brought it immediately. I guess she was new on the job. The food came very fast and we managed to get a table without reservation. We had 2 Poulet im Körbli with French Fries and 2 extra portions of sauces and 2 drinks which cost me 70.- with tips. I don't understand how the food is sometimes good and sometimes bad. Shouldn't a location like this always be the same?

Last week we called the restaurant to make some reservation. The lady who picked up the phone first told us, that we shall not call them during their peak hours. Actually since we had visitors from abroad and we promised them to go, we did not cancel our reservation. For me, this was my very last visit to this fast food restaurant. Unfortunately the staff is not trained for proper customer service, everyone is stressed or maybe burnt out already. However it's not worth the journey just for a half chicken which costs 20 CHF. And yes, you still cannot pay by credit or debit card. The owner just does not want to improve the service level. Today we've been to Attinghausen at the Pouletburg. The taste, as usual was great. I've had the hot spicy version of the roasted half chicken whereas our kid had the mild version. The french fries were not bad. This time I tried the local beer called Stiär Biär and I must admit it tastes yummy. However if the staff put a smile on their face it would give a good impression. And the price for a half chicken is also too much. But what annoyed me most is that you cannot pay with any cards, they accept only cash. How about mentioning this old age method on the phone when I called to make a reservation?

Je voulais commencer par le positif et ensuite passer au négatif mais comme il n'y a rien de bon à en sortir, on va y aller cash. Ce restaurant, si on peut appeler ça comme ça, est tellement un sketch que je vais raconter mon avis comme tel. Déjà, aucun bonjour, aucun bienvenue, aucun sourire, rien (ah oui, c'est pas drôle sinon). On se fait installer au fond de la salle et au bout de 10mins, la serveuse débarque en nous demandant si on a choisit. On s'est regardé, ébahit, et on a demandé à voir le menu, ce qui l'a agacé. Bref, on a feuilleté le pauvre menu en 2s et on a finalement décidé de goûter au fameux poulet dans la corbeille, ils sont reconnus pour ça, ils ne peuvent quand même pas foirer leur plat phare. Si ? La serveuse revient et demande à nouveau si on a choisit. "4 poulets corbeilles svp" "Vous voulez des frites avec ?" "Des frites en plus ? Parce que.. y a bien des frites avec le poulet ?" "Non" Comment ça, non, c'est 25chf le demi-poulet sans rien ?? En effet ! 100chf pour 4 personnes, pour 2 miserables poulets. Okay, il a intérêt à être incroyable. On se prend également 3 bières, 1 coca et une assiette "Burg" de charcuteries Prix garantie pour 18chf. Après avoir servi 3 autres tables arrivés après nous, ça a enfin été notre tour. 4 demi-poulets avec une cuillère à soupe de sauce à 100chf, deux portions de frites congelées à 14chf, une petite salade mêlée à 9chf, une assiette de charcuterie de 150g à 18chf et les boissons, on est à 162,90chf. J'aurai sûrement eu moins de regrets à obtenir 4 étoiles sur 5 au Loto et râter 150mio que ce que je ressens en ce moment même. Après un service aussi médiocre, un repas aussi déséquilibré niveau qualité/prix et une soirée gâchée, on a bien pris le temps de compter les 162,90chf au centime près devant la serveuse. Et comme cette histoire ne peut pas avoir de fin heureuse, aucun "merci, bonne soirée", rien. On débarasse et nettoie votre table alors que vous y êtes encore assis. Autres anecdotes marrantes à raconter en soirée: - On demande à un serveur où se trouvent les toilettes, il nous répond qu'il n'en a aucune idée. - Payer par carte ? Vous vous croyez dans un palace ou quoi, ici c'est que par cash, y a pas moyen djadja. - Notre serveuse n'a pas voulu nous parler en Hochdeutsch et du coup comme on ne comprenait rien à son accent, on a passé plus de temps à lui demander de se répéter et à essayer de la comprendre que de manger notre poulet. - La quittance déposée sur notre table avant même que le repas arrive, sans même savoir si on prend un dessert ou non. - La bière qui ressemble plus à un fond de verre de bière auquel on aurait rajouté de l'eau. En résumé, si vous souhaitez offrir une soirée spectacle à vos proches, oubliez les tickets spectacle fnac, venez ici !

Pouletburg is a restaurant I have known for over a decade. Even though I don't live nearby, I like to travel there. The service is always friendly and courteous. I always order the same dish: chicken in a basket with the unique sauce that you can't find anywhere else. Whether you visit as a couple or in a small or large group, the restaurant offers enough space for different occasions. I recommend Pouletburg to all kinds of people, whether it is someone who also lives in Switzerland or someone who is visiting as a tourist. It is definitely worth a stop. Good to know: You can only pay cash here. However, if you forget to bring cash, you can always withdraw money from an ATM located just a few minutes' walk from the restaurant.

Ich schreibe normalerweise keine Google Reviews, aber der Service in diesem Restaurant hat über die Jahre deutlich nachgelassen. Freundlichkeit und Servicequalität scheinen nicht mehr im Vordergrund zu stehen. Heute Abend wurden wir zwischen 19:00 und 21:30 Uhr von einer Dame mit kurzen Haaren bedient. Ich hatte klar und deutlich gesagt, dass wir eine große Cola Zero und eine normale Cola bestellen möchten. Stattdessen brachte sie uns eine große Cola Zero (1,5 l) und eine kleine Cola (0,3 l). Als ich darauf hinwies, dass wir eine große normale Cola bestellt hatten, erwiderte sie vorwurfsvoll: "Aber das haben Sie so gesagt." Entschuldigung? In welchem Tonfall wird hier mit Gästen gesprochen? Ein einfaches "Tut mir leid" hätte genügt. Weiter ging es, als sie mein Poulet im Körbli brachte und fragte, wer das normale bestellt hat. Ich antwortete, dass ich das Gericht ohne Schärfe bestellt hatte, woraufhin sie schnippisch entgegnete: "NEIN, NORMAL." Ein wenig mehr Freundlichkeit wäre angebracht. Das bestellte Dessert, fünf Glacekugeln, war bereits fast geschmolzen, als es an unseren Tisch kam. Am liebsten hätte ich gar kein Trinkgeld gegeben, doch wir waren immer noch gutmütig und sozial genug, aufzurunden. Es ist wirklich eine Frechheit, einen solchen Service zu bieten. Ich hoffe, dass die Kellnerin eine entsprechende Rückmeldung erhält und diszipliniert wird.

A long time favorite of mine! Their main menu item is a1/2 chicken in their special butter herb sauce. It is delicious and very addictive. Since most people order just that they might not bring you a menu to the table. If you go in big groups it is worthwhile to make a reservation, since it can get busy. Especially since it has also become somewhat of a tourist attraction and many people visiting the region or passing through URI will stop for a chicken.
