Gannet — Restaurant in Basel

We decided to go there for dinner in the late afternoon. I was unable to make reservations using the website. ( no same day reservations we allowed) we were unsure of getting a table but glad we went anyway. We were so glad we did, there were plenty of tables available and menu is simple and everything is made fresh. (don't trust the reservation app.) Lasagna was the daily special with a large salad and cheesecake for 45 chf. A fair price for delicious freshly made menu. Brilliant idea to transform a ship into a restaurant. We had a table on the deck and this offers a nice view over the river. I liked the uncomplicated menu with just a few dishes, but all what we’ve tried was great and well presented. Prices are slightly above the average in my opinion. Very bad service, most of the menu wasn't available and they only informed us after we ordered, no flexibility of the stuff to offer an alternative menu for a group reservation that was made in advance (they said they didn't buy enough groceries...). They also brought the starter and the main at the same time and left it at the table so we either had to eat the main course first or eat it cold, both...
