From sensational to less than casual. The waiters are very friendly and corteous. The Salat as a starter is fresh due to the Kapuzinerkresse. unfortunately the main dish happened to be a starter as well "\_(°u°)_/" The dumpling with Kimchi were a little bland. The butternut with goat cream cheese and Thyme foam dipped with black garlic dips has been sensationel. Also the Cappuccino I can strongly recommend, great roasted beans, nor sour nor bitter but strong in coffee taste. Athough the dishes are quite small and can vary much in taste, all together a 4 * is still too little, because I weight the effort to use mostly local grown and fabricated products (as the soya sauce is produced in Rheinfelden). In Anbetracht dessen dass wir nur von 18h - 20h einen Tisch bekamen, war ich irritiert, dass um 17h45 noch stahlketten den Eingang versperrten.
The ONE Best DishThe ONE Best Dish
Summary: pleasant atmosphere with good service; average vegetarian/vegan food with bland taste Dishes (- negative / = ok / + positive): - Kimchi dim sum: too spicy covering the flavors of all other nice ingredients; excessive amount of kimchi in relation to dim sum and other ingredients - Sweet chestnuts gnocchi with cheese: dry with bland taste and didn’t even have a nice chestnut flavor - Leek with sour dough Spätzle (south German pasta): neither sour nor salty, just bland taste; as signature dish disappointing; Spätzle didn’t have a taste of sour dough, but just plain average spätzle Service: + nice and friendly Price: - too pricey for what you get; ca. CHF 140 for two people without wine Atmosphere: = easy going rustic interior

We had a great experience at LAUCH Basel. The food was absolutely delicious, with a menu that mainly focuses on vegan options, though there are some vegetarian dishes that include cheese. The service was top-notch; the waitresses were extremely friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. However, I do think the menu could be more informative. It was a bit challenging to understand the flow of the meal and what exactly each course entailed. Also, keep in mind that this is a fine dining restaurant, so you should expect smaller portions and higher prices. Overall, if you’re looking for a high-quality dining experience with excellent service and delicious vegan cuisine, this place is worth a visit!
