THE MANAGEMENT IS ABSOLUTELY SICK AND A BUNCH OF RACISTS! I am not even over exaggerating but they exhibit racial profiling and discrimination of the highest order. It was extremely clear that the server just didn't want us there right from the beginning. Ignored us for a good bit and when we started placing our order, he was just constantly interrupting and asking questions like "why are you ordering this? why not that? why are you ordering so little?" Of course it's not normal and I knew I'm not answerable to any of that. I politely told him that I don't need to give him an explanation for why I'm ordering what I'm ordering and then he had to show his ego in a different way.
So he said that he was going to charge us for water. Not bottled water, but water straight out of the tap. And that it was going to be 2.50 CHF per glass of tap water per person and more if we wanted refills. He said that this was the law in Switzerland and lied straight on my face. We said we had water in the car and asked if we could bring that in. Of course the answer was NO!
We politely said that this was not the place for us and that we're leaving. They made a big scene out of it and were yelling, screaming and literally swearing at us. We left and went to "Tulsi" Indian Restaurant 5 minutes away and had a great experience. Friendly/prompt service, great food, even better people and no they did not charge us for water.

Read moreBest Indian food in Switzerland and probably one of the best in Europe. I was so surprised to realise such an authentic Indian restaurant was hidden in Bern when we tried the food there by accident. Then in a short span of time I went back two more times. On each of the occasions they never disappointed. Specially try out the palak chat as starter. If you can handle the spicy, (they can really spice things up if you specially ask for it) try out the chicken 65. All their makhni gravies are awesome. But the stellar dish is the Gutthi Vankaya. You will be awestruck how the humble aubergine dish is elevated to the next level. They also cook biryani which is not run of the mill. We were told the dum biryani is only prepared during the Friday and Saturday which proves why biryani is so fresh here. We even met the cook once who came from Andhra and apparently he has been cook in prestigious and esteemed and laces in India and then UK before...
Read moreMy colleagues and I went to Kesar, an Indian restaurant on Murtenstrasse, for dinner today. The place offers both indoor and outdoor seating, but since the indoor tables were full, we sat outside. The restaurant was packed even on a weekday.
We looked through the menu and ordered a few dishes. Here’s what we tried along with our ratings: • Paneer Butter Masala – 4/5 • Safrani Paneer Tikka – 4/5 • Subz Handi – 4/5 • Chicken Tikka Masala – 4/5 • Badami Kesar Ghosht – 3/5 • Garlic Naan – 3.5/5 • Multigrain Roti – 4/5
Each dish comes with complimentary basmati rice and dal. The rice was excellent, though the portion of dal was small. Overall, the food was great, but the Badami Kesar Ghosht was underwhelming.
The service was great, which made the experience even better. All in all, it was a very...
