I have traveled around the world and never encountered such an unpleasant experience, such coldness, lack of hospitality, and empathy. We traveled thousands of kilometers to attend my mother’s wedding, an event that was carefully planned in advance, with the room, music, and dinner at 6 PM all agreed upon. Trusting that this restaurant, like any other in Switzerland or elsewhere, would fulfill its promises, we proceeded with our arrangements.
However, to our great disappointment, we were greeted by children around the age of ten acting as servers. This might have seemed charming at first, but that feeling quickly faded when, halfway through the first dance, the speaker ran out of battery, completely ruining that special moment and leaving the guests in uncomfortable silence.
We had no one to turn to but the children, who were unable to resolve the issue and could only apologize. But what good is an apology when everything was previously agreed upon? The wedding and music were announced, yet you failed to charge the speaker, which points to one thing: lack of responsibility. We remained in awkward silence for nearly two hours, unable to enjoy the event. By the time the issue was finally resolved, it was already time to move upstairs for dinner.
Upon entering the restaurant, we were informed that music was now prohibited, even though we were told beforehand it would be allowed. This was deeply unpleasant. Dinner was not ready, and we were left waiting, hungry, for an hour and a half. In the meantime, we were offered a new bottle of wine every ten minutes, but no one could tell us when dinner would be served. The gap between the starter and the main course was extremely long, leaving us feeling like walk-in guests who had just ordered, while other diners were served before us, even though we had arranged this event in advance.
Another uncomfortable situation arose when no one took responsibility after someone in the parking area destroyed our decorations, tore down flags, burned them, and threw them in the trash. As an influencer who visits major restaurants, I can say this was by far my worst experience to date. This was a wedding, but you turned it into a horror show. It was distressing, upsetting, and even traumatic.
I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone, and I strongly advise against celebrating important events here – they...
Read moreWe stayed at Gasthaus Traube 3 July through 5 July. Julian greeted us with a warm smile and was very eager to aid us in getting settled and assist us with dinner reservations. Without a prior reservation we we graciously accommodated in the beautiful Gasthaus for a delicious meal and great hospitality from Christine. We stayed in rooms 104 and 105. Both have windows facing northwest over the garden and church steeple. Both rooms had brilliant views from sunrise to sunset. The rooms have excellent soundproofing aided by wood paneling on all 4 walls. The washroom and closet doors are seamless and you don’t notice their threshold unless they’re open. The emerald green subway tiles and gold fixtures are crisp and complementary. The bed linens, pillows, and comforters are top quality.
A self service water, tea, coffee station is conveniently placed on each floor of guest rooms. Our floor had 5 rooms. A continental breakfast was included in our stay which included, fresh meats + cheeses, assortments of yogurts, breads, granolas + dried fruit, pastries, fresh juices and made to order eggs and pancakes. Monica and Ramy were our breakfast attendants and they ensured we enjoyed a delightful morning meal.
Upon departure Claudia completed our check out with warmth and professionalism. We look forward to our next stay at...
Read moreI traveled from afar to attend my mother’s wedding with my family, and unfortunately, our experience at Traube Restaurant was overwhelmingly negative. Although we often visit Switzerland, we have never encountered anything like this.
To start, we were served by children around 10 years old, with no professional staff in sight. The Bluetooth speakers, which were promised for the event, were not charged, resulting in the music cutting out entirely during the first dance... a critical moment. The music remained off for over an hour, leaving guests in awkward silence.
Additionally, the food was delayed by more than an hour, and despite being initially assured that we could have music during the event, we were later told it was not allowed. The gap between the starter and the main course was excessively long, further dampening the atmosphere.
The restaurant staff apologized but made no real effort to resolve any of these issues, leaving us deeply disappointed. It was an unpleasant experience, and I cannot recommend this...
