Very disappointed with the service. We had a reservation and ordered the fondue. The waiter was stressing us a lot! After barely having finished the fondue, the waiter came and removed everything, including the remaining bread and potatoes and asked if we wanted dessert. We wanted to think a bit and he said “okay, 3 minutes!” and shortly after he came back with the menu. We started looking at the options but we didn’t have the time to decide before he came back to our table once again. When we said we hadn’t decided yet, he said “QUICKLY!” with a very rude tone and rushed away. We decided then to have dessert at another place instead due to his rude behavior. When we told him we didn’t want dessert after all he laughed and said “OOOKAY” and came straight back with the bill even though we hadn’t even finished our wine yet. When we had paid he came back almost straight away and said “5 minutes and then we need the table”. We had only been there for just over an hour at this point?! I’ve never experienced this bad of a service ever before at a restaurant! It really left us with a...

Best meal we've had in Switzerland. Went on a Thursday evening for dinner. Very authentic restaurant setting with a Swiss mountain house style. Seeing the owner Georges Magnin smile and present us with his cheesy specialties was a real treat. We could tell he was truly passionate about his cooking, his restaurant, and pursuit in delighting customers.

The food itself was very generous and balanced. We got the tasting menu and the Malakoff (fried cheese balls). The Soup du Chalet starter was a very creamy but light and delicious. This is one of the few places in Geneva that seem to serve authentic Alpine Mac and Cheese. The portion size was very generous and creamy and delicious! The Malakoff was also very delicious especially when paired with the salad and ham. The dessert was perfectly done so it was sweet but light and refreshing. Overall with all the cheese, we didn't find that it was too salty and definitely left us feeling delighted. It's a must go if you're in Geneva and want a sampling of authentic...

Took a guest from another country for a dinner here on a recommendation from a friend. Followed waitress’ recommendation of goat cheese fondue for starters. It was fine, came with sliced bread and boiled potatoes. My guest asked for a meat fondue and waitress replied “This we cannot serve you, you need to order a day in advance.” Was not told so on the phone when I made the reservation. OK, we ask for recommendations for the main dish, she suggests “ motie-motie”, the half and half fondue, which comes again….. with same potatoes and more bread. We order a bottle of wine. The taste was not bad, but not out of this world. I am not prepared to pay 140 francs for boiled potatoes, sliced bread and some molten cheese. If you keep your costs low by having just two staff serving the guests, and you serve unsophisticated no frills food, then at least I would expect you to compensate with customer service.

Never again. I would prefer to patronize a place where staff cares about...

I would definitely put 6 stars if possible. One of my favourite restaurants in Geneva and a prime destination for a traditional swiss meal. Have visited it (and its twin brother in town) many times and everything is perfect. All fondues (traditional, vacherin, goat) are delicious and served with bread, potatoes and grapes, the charcuterie and cheese plate is generous, all desserts are mouthwatering (try their iced coffee: ice cream, espresso and double cream), and they offer a wide selection of swiss wines, both by the bottle and glass. Also a rare place where to drink the traditional absynthe with the tap! And the service is always excellent, kind, helpful, joyful and connaisseur. It just reminds you what a good restaurant should be like...
