Nestled on a mountain with a stunning view, this restaurant offers a beautiful setting. The garden is magnificent, and the interior blends rustic stone walls with clean, wooden furniture. The tables are set with proper linen napkins, a nice touch that hints at a higher standard. The menu is small but interesting, featuring four options each for starters and main courses, and five for desserts. The selections cater to various tastes, with meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes available. My meal began with an excellent Vitello Tonnato, but the main course, a pulpo (octopus) dish, was disappointing. Both the octopus and the accompanying vegetables were so undercooked they were tough, and I ended up leaving half the plate. The service, while quick, was a bit detached. My unfinished plate was cleared without anyone asking if there was an issue with the food, a lack of attentiveness that is surprising given the prices. Later, after requesting a dessert menu, I had to wait to be noticed again, likely because my table was in a less visible spot. When it’s come to paying, I literally had to force the waiter to come to the table to take my credit card, but giving them credit that their main focus was on the larger groups in the garden. When I ask, if I like the meal, I answered that the Pulpo could need some improvement. There was no reaction to it. The wine list is decent, with about a dozen options. Despite the service issues and a flawed main course, the restaurant's incredible location and breathtaking views make it a memorable spot. For the ambiance alone, it's worth a visit, though the dining experience itself could definitely use...
Read moreLost in the middle of nowhere, impossible to get there without a car. When we arrived, we were indicated our table but not escorted to it. We had to wait a long while before we got the menus. And then a waiter quickly passed by to drop a bread basket but no one stopped to ask us if we wanted to something to drink. Before we even ordered our food, a waiter brought two amuse-bouche and walked away as fast as he came. We had to call him back and ask him what it was. He answered: “Some cream with cucumber.” That’s specific. Only after we ordered, the main waiter came to our table and asked if we wanted some wine. I would have expected the wine menu to come along with the food menu... Anyways, we had a long hike so we decided to stick to water. As a starter, I ordered a tartare. While the vegetable cream it was laid on was very good as well as the couple of vegetables in the plate, the tartare itself was merely two balls of raw meat. Seasoned, but that’s it. I’m used to having it mixed with herbs, onions, capers, perhaps some gherkins too. Here nothing. I was therefore disappointed. The other dishes were good but somewhat forgettable. The waiters were running around but always seemed not to notice us and we struggled to get the check. When we got it, we had to call someone to pay by card as nobody paid attention to us after the check was dropped. The service was painful I must confess. Net, we were very disappointed and we left as soon as the...
Read moreI used to come here all the time when I was a young girl about +15 years ago to go horse riding with Jessica. Finally, I returned yesterday for a dinner at the restaurant. Obviously, the first thing I checked out was the horses at the end of the road - unfortunately, they were probably all in their little house.. Dinner was great - we had big a charcuterie plate as a starter and then some ravioli and a tartar as a main. All very nicely presented and very tasty. We came with our two dogs and there were at least 4-5 other dogs as well, so super dog friendly! The place itself is just magical - all alone in the green. No car noise, nothing. Just endless greenery. Together with the Castello di Morcote also the perect wedding location - which I dream of since I am small - but also with all...
