Locanda Motto del Gallo — Restaurant in Circolo di Taverne

reached around 2pm to the hotel and its closed.. No one is around. Called the hotel its went for auto response. Then called booking.com and even they couldn't reach anyone. Then finally the chef of the hotel turned up around 3.25pm and gave the key. Later the receptionist came after 20-25 minutes and casually said that Monday we are closed. They said we have given check-in time as 3pm. That's perfectly fine but there is zero communication regarding this to us.

Next is the ticino ticket, they were not ready to take effort to create and give us the ticino ticket (which includes free transport and reduced cost for cable cars) . After so much discussions, finally Receptionist found the way to issue the ticino ticket.

Very limited breakfast options that too if you ate vegetarian. 2nd day we were offered a cake with juice and not even a croissant. It's not a buffet breakfast.

The room was duplex but the first floor had no air circulation properly and it remained hot for the full 2 nights.

Last but not the least , the payment machine which they had, not every master or visa card would work there..! God knows what's the old age swiping machine . When my master card(the one used for my booking guarantee) was not working, he is casually telling me to open an account is Swiss using some twint app.. OMG its crazy out there with this hotel. They can't deduct the money using their booking.com account also.. not sure why..

Would never recommend this place. Pay a few Frank's extra and stay in somewhere better and peaceful place.

We had lunch at Locanda Motto del Gallo and our experience was adversely impacted by an issue in the kitchen (oven/grill). As a result, all cooked meat dishes were not available - almost half of the menu. I would have appreciated to be informed upfront, mostly as I made this booking for a “special occasion” (and chose the restaurant especially for the meat specialties), or at least when getting the menu. Instead, we were informed only after the order, which I found very inconvenient.
