Pietro and Mercedes are young, creative, all about quality, freshness (possibly local), a real breath of fresh air in the quite traditional gastronomic landscape of Ticino. One runs the kitchen, the other the dalle. The restaurant sits less than 20 guests, so it’s a good idea to make a reservation. So here we go with a tasting menu that focus on seasonal products that is predominantly vegetarian, looking to preserve freshness and quality. Started with a creamy and crunchy cauliflower variation, marinated truffle egg yolk. It was simply delicious! The cauliflower was so silky, pitch perfect and well balanced with the egg yolk. Next followed a pumpkin confit, with goosefoot and nettle cream and a goat fresh cheese. I was surprised by how wonderfully tasty the pumpkin was, an ideal compagnon for the delicate goat cheese. Followed by a lake Ceresio pikeperch bamboo steamed with leek and poplar mushrooms. Another great dish, I particularly appreciate the use of poplar mushrooms, which are not very popular in most restaurants, and the local fish. Then we had a wonderful purple eggplant with a juicy rumpsteak beef. I truly enjoy the ingredients and the simplicity of it. We finished with a great dessert, a infused apple with white chocolate and matcha tea, unexpected and yet I could found a lovely balance between the sweetness, bitterness and acidity. The red wire follows through also with their wine selection, leaning to the natural ones. We loved the experience and we will be back for sure!

I came here for my birthday. I have been a long time vegan but the chef was able to surprise me with the creative presentation of vegetable dishes and unique fusion of colors and taste. I had the 7 servings menu. My only critique is l think for this price there should be a free coffee or digestif at the end. Expect to spend more than the average restaurant but experience something very unique.

Un’esperienza speciale Non ero mai stata all’Osteria del Centro, ma avevo sentito parlare di Piero Roncoroni ed ero molto affascinata dalla sua filosofia. L’esperienza culinaria del suo menu é stata davvero meravigliosa in ogni suo aspetto!! A partire dall’ambiente e la scelta di arredamento e oggettistica che arriva a tavola, cura in ogni dettaglio e gioco. Bellissima l’idea di avere la lista degli ingredienti del menu senza sapere come saranno lavorati, presentati e accostati. Stupenda anche l’accoglienza di ogni persona che lavora qui. Si sente chiara e forte la passione di questo progetto in tutti loro: gentilezza, sorrisi, disponibilitá. Fino ad arrivare al Centro dell’esperienza, ciò che arriva sul piatto, con molta cura, ricerca, amore per gli ingredienti semplici che vengono portati alla loro massima espressione di sapore. Una portata piú buona dell’altra!!! Viene subito voglia di tornare in altre stagioni, con altri prodotti e scoprire il prossimo gioco. Davvero bravissimi tutti!!! Grazie di cuore anche per la bellissima candelina-rapa che ho ricevuto “per il desiderio” al mio compleanno.

I came here for my birthday. I have been a long time vegan but the chef was able to surprise me with the creative presentation of vegetable dishes and unique fusion of colors and taste. I had the 7 servings menu. My only critique is l think for this price there should be a free coffee or digestif at the end. Expect to spend more than the average restaurant but experience something very unique.

L’Osteria del Centro non è semplicemente un ristorante: è un luogo sacro, dove ogni dettaglio vibra in armonia con le forze invisibili della natura e dello spirito. Qui tutto gira attorno al numero 7, cifra sacra della trasformazione, dell’equilibrio e dell’elevazione. Sette sono i sentieri che percorri durante l’esperienza: gusto, olfatto, vista, tatto, suono, intuizione e memoria. Sette come i chakra, come i cieli, come le note di una melodia perfetta.

E al centro di tutto, un cerchio invisibile unisce ciò che è terreno e ciò che è celeste. Un cerchio che si ritrova nel piatto, nel ritmo del servizio, nella disposizione dello spazio: simbolo di eternità, di ritorno, di completezza.

L’ambiente è avvolgente, quasi rituale, costruito con maestria per riconnettere l’essere umano ai quattro elementi della terra: fuoco, aria, terra, fuoco.

Il servizio è una danza precisa e silenziosa, dove ogni gesto sembra parte di un antico rito. Accoglienza, attenzione, cura: tutto concorre a farti sentire al centro di qualcosa di più grande.

La cucina è pura alchimia gastronomica. I piatti non si limitano a nutrire: evocano, trasformano, raccontano. Sono cerchi concentrici di sapori, dove ogni boccone è una porta aperta verso una dimensione più profonda del gusto.

All’Osteria del Centro, terra e cielo si incontrano, e il tempo si dissolve. Esci diverso da come sei entrato: più leggero, più radicato, come se avessi toccato per un attimo l’essenza del bello. Continuare così ragazzi, state portando avanti un progetto fantastico. Grazie 🙏🏻...
