Grotto Ticinese — Restaurant in Circolo di Vezia

We‘ve ordered a grilled meat plate with fries and vegetables. The meat was ok, the vegetables and the fries were absolutely boring. The worst part: We‘ve got played badly about the price: Next to the „grigliata mista“ was written „for 2 people“ and we thought the price was accordingly for two people. However we missed that next to the price is was written: „p.p.“ which means per person and we had to pay double the price. The waiter didn‘t mention anything until the bill came. The food was excellent, but when we were leaving I was pressured to leave a tip. I said no multiple times but the waiter kept repeating that I needed to leave a tip then added a 15% tip for himself. I asked a Swiss friend about this and they told me that behavior should not be tolerated and likely happened due to us being tourists.

🍖🧆🍮 Typical Grotto Ticinese with barbecue grill in the main room (meat is grilled in front of you). Nice atmosphere, staff were super attentive and kind and the food was good (tried a superb brasato with polenta). Wine of the grotto not special but served in the typical small ceramic cup.
