I think I should give up this concept of Peruvian food with restaurants like Zuma, Novikov or places like Nobu etc. No one can match hospitality of French and Swiss service. Dining out with truly new flavours and five star service is real deal. It’s all built around you to have a world class experience and feels less commercial. This restaurant is out of this world with unobstructed beautiful views of lake leman. They really make you feel on top of this world. Very formal restaurant and unfortunately I was still dressed in casual but didn’t feel for a bit as an outsider and non fit. Exceptional service and excellent food. I can’t describe the experience as no words for it but this restaurant has everything. They just need a smiley sommelier and rest they have everything. Cologny town in Geneva is like Mayfair of London. If you don’t get best of the place here then I don’t think you will get anywhere. I am in love...
Read moreThe place is not cheap, so don’t go there and complain abt the price. Now that this is out of the way, this place is really good. The venue is modern inside, i went in winter and i expect the summer experience to be even better when sitting outside. The view is beautiful.
The staff is super friendly, fancy but not arrogant and helpful without being invasive. The chef brings out a few amuse-bouche before the meal, and theyre absolutely delicious. We had the cote de boeuf, unfortunately it was overcooked and we didnt eat it. But unlike any place in Geneva, they removed it from the bill without having had to ask for it. Again, very good service.
I had the cauliflower to start, really tasty and my partner had the langoustine which was also delicious. I give five stars because despite the steak screw-up, their response and attitude was the right one to have. Will...
Read moreThere are few places where I would rather eat in Geneva than L' Auberge du Lion d'Or: for a start, the setting is spectacular, sitting above the lake with an excellent view of water and the French Alps behind; and the food is of the very highest standard; everything on the menu is excellent, so I won't single out one single dish: the chef selects and cooks the freshest local produce and you taste it immediately. The service is commensurate with the quality of the food, as you would expect of a restaurant of such a standing; and the wine list is amongst the best in Geneva. if you are in the city and you manage to book a table, then take the opportunity to visit; one word of caution however; make sure that your credit card is healthy or that you are carrying more cash than you normally would....but it is definitely...
