One of the more expensive beaches here from what I found (7chf instead of the 2 we could have paid at Bains des Paquis) but they have more facilities, which is exactly what we needed since we came mostly unprepared. They have a shop where you can buy towels, sunblock, and even swim suits. There are also a few places that sell food and a vending machine if you only want a drink.
Plus they have changing facilities and bathrooms, and you can rent lockers or cabins if you're not used to leaving stuff out (though Switzerland as a whole is very safe, so feel free to leave your stuff under a tree or something).
Beyond that, they have paddle boards (15chf per hour), wibits inflatables (per 30 minutes, but I don't remember the price), lake access, a pool, a kids fountain area, ping pong tables, diving, a water slide, a workout section, plenty of space to lay out in the grass, and probably even more that I...
Read moreBeautiful spot on the lake shore. Large open air pool with lanes roped off for serious swimmers or an equally large pool to just splash around in. Water slide etc for kids. The highlight for us was the section of the lake that you can swim in. For Geneva (and Switzerland in general!) this was really good value place to visit. For those not familiar: the "Cabine" is a changing cubicle size cabin with a lockable door you can rent for your visit, meaning you have somewhere to get changed and leave bags etc for CHF5. The "Casiers valeurs" are small lockers only big enough for a phone and wallet etc for CHF2. Both need a CHF20 cash deposit and a piece of ID (they were happy with my UK driving licence). I'd suggest bringing sliders/ flip-flops for walking around the site and getting to the lake shore. The bus stop "Genève Plage" is a minute's walk away with very regular service in and out of the...
Read moreFor leisure: amazing, good for sunbathing, great restaurant at fair price. For swimming (training) : There's only one chronometer in the middle of the pool, hard to see from one side for 50m drills. It's usually quite full, even though with a fast (sportive) lane that most people shouldn't be there... There's an almost aways empty lane for swimming with material only, I'd recommend bring at least a swim snorkel to pop to the other lane in case it's to crowded. There's the possibility of swimming in the lake as well, which is nice, but for that now is better Bain the paquis, that added 100m buoys to measure distance. Pool temperature is nice, long distance crawl...
