This is one of the places you brag visiting to your friends about. A truly charming restaurant that makes you feel like you are in a comfy and warm living room in some cozy alpine hut. That it's just off the main road in a smaller street helps with that image. Also the entrance is very charming because it enforces the alpine hut feeling even more.

The food was wonderful. Swiss cuisine with a modern touch. For my personal taste a little on the higher end with the salt but still okay - I usually do not use too much salt so for most people it will be fine.

Great selection of wines both local and foreign. What I liked a lot about the wine menu is that it included a recommendation to the dishes on the menu. So for someone who is new to wine that is a great help.

Prices for both wine and food were very adequate and not too high considering the quality that you get.

Wait staff is very friendly and you might even catch a few words in the local language...

I loved the place. Like any place that I go to later in the evening, they were cranky about the late order to the kitchen. They responded well to my polite disposition though and by the end of dinner that consisted of a regional special barley soup and a really good green salad, finished off with a fresh mountain picked Huckleberry sundae, the owner was sitting with me at the table chatting about the status of the Disentis (the town) and the best places to hike in the mountains. The server from Hungary was a sweetheart. I would introduce her to my son any day. They have a great selection of regional game specialties, as the various hunting seasons provide. I will probably go back there for dinner next week if I don't get shot while I'm hiking by some over eager hunter in the first week of...

Mies – mieser – Alte Buendnerstube / Veglia Stiva grischuna. Massiv unfreundliche, gestresste und überforderte Wirtin (trotz kleinem Lokal und wir waren erst die zweiten Gäste), dies kann auch das kleine Lokal und auch nicht das Essen gut machen, welches auch nur ok/mittelmässig war. Wir haben uns in diesem Restaurant unfreundlich behandelt, unwohl und sogar verarscht gefühlt. Die Wirtin hat uns weder begrüsst/gegrüsst noch beachtet. Lange Wartezeiten folgten schon nur zum bestellen, aber auch bis das Essen dann mal kam (trotz kleinem Lokal). Das bestellte Desserts wurde dann auch mal gebracht/auf den Tisch gestellt und 2 Minuten später wieder weggenommen und an einen anderen Tisch, einem anderen Gast gebracht/hingestellt. Dies ohne Kommentar der Chefin! Ein absolutes «!!!NO-GO!!!» für beide Seiten der Gäste (mich und den anderen Gast)! Das zweite Dessert das mir danach gebracht wurde, sah total anders (hingepflatschte Resten und kleiner) aus, obwohl es das gleiche hätte sein sollen. Nach meiner Reklamation und Rückgabe, wurde mir dann nach einer Weile als drittes Dessert einfach nochmals das zweite/gleiche wieder hingestellt… «unglaublich und frech dazu...»! «NEVER AGAIN Alte Buendnerstube / Veglia Stiva Grischuna». Es kam auch weder Verständnis noch Einsicht von Seiten der unfreundlichen gestressten Chefin auf (sie wollte ohne Worte gleich wieder gehen, worauf ich sie zurückrufen musste). Nicht einmal ein Entschuldigung… erst auf mein Verlangen (welches vom Verhalten und Blick her jedoch auch nicht ernst genommen werden konnte). Auf der Rechnung wurden uns am Schluss dann auch noch CHF 59.00 zu viel verrechnet, für ein Wein den wir gar nicht getrunken haben (mehrfach erwähnt, kleines Restaurant!). Man kann die Gäste ja auf verschiedene Arten verarschen, wie es in diesem Restaurant scheinbar auch praktiziert wird... Wie wir leider in mehreren Situationen feststellen mussten.
