My wife & her friend are here training for the upcoming World Championships mountain biking. They did a big training ride & stopped at this cafe during their training ride in the hope of getting some food & refreshments.
The lady behind the counter (either the manageress or the owner) would not serve them or accept card payments.
Not only that - she said that she would only accept card payments over CHF20.
Between the two of them, the total amount was over CHF20, but the manager / owner would still not accept payment via card - stating that between the coffee orders & the food orders, that only the coffee orders counted towards the total bill.
She had total disregard that here were two foreign young woman who were in desperate need of something to eat & drink - not only that; but they are here in Switzerland from foreign countries bringing tourism revenue not just to her shop, but spending a significant amount of money staying in the region for 3 weeks between accommodation costs, grocery shopping, eating out at restaurants, etc.
If one can’t see that two people are arriving on €15,000 bicycles & then think that they are going to try cheat you out of CHF20.
One has to seriously ask what has the world become when an older woman will not even serve two younger women & trust them to return later the same day with cash to pay for the inconvenience of her establishment not accepting a credit card payment???
Some of the most shockingly bad service & engagement I have seen in a long time.
It’s amazing how a wealthy 1st world country would behave in this manner where as if one had to go to a 3rd world country or ask a person in real poverty whether they would be willing to share their last piece of bread crust with you - their answer would be YES without hesitation.
So so disgusting & disappointing to see this kind of behaviour in a supposedly first...
Read moreThe food and place is lovely. However the lady behind the counter was extremely rude to me and my friends. Maybe she was having a bad day (we all do), but she seemed to want to impose her bad day on us.
We had trouble with our order, and we had language barriers, but we all spoke French. The order was messed up and she refused to change it, so we paid for an extra panini, since it seemed like a losing battle against her. It’s sad, since it was such a nice place and with excellent food but it marred by...
