The main building is very typical of the Wallis Alpine traditional architecture, inside and out. It is a family run place, where people speak the local dialect among themselves, while speaking excellent French and correct English to visitors. The restaurant and bar are unpretentious, but very pleasant. Free parking. I saw room number 1, recently refurbished, and really worth the stay : traditional, quite roomy, efficient bathroom, great view on mountains and village. Besides, they have at least another building where they can rent a room, the same building where the managers live. It has twin beds, quite small bathroom with shower, good storing space. The view would have been very good if the two windows had been lower ( they are at eyes height, when the viewer is standing up). That is one minute walk from the main building. That room was about 75 swiss francs a night, which is honest. I don’t know prices for rooms in the main building. The managers are very friendly and helpfull, they went out of their way to help. I felt like I stayed at a place run by genuinely good and honest people. See my comments about the...

Read moreThe hotel has simple, small rooms which are basic but clean. The shower in my room was fine except that the shower was hung on the wall at head height such that I could either accept that it sprayed in my face or take it off and hold it in my hand. The food, if they are serving from the menu, is quite good with Swiss specialities (cheese and meat fondues, raclette cooked in front of the fire) and a few other choices (very good steak tartare). The wine is limited and local but some are quite good. On the other hand the set menu for their half board option was uninteresting in concept and poorly prepared - I couldn't bring myself to finish the main course of stew which was tough and dry. Had I only stayed the first night I would certainly have considered going again but, after the second night, I think I'll...
