Apertura Sonnendeck — Restaurant in Flüelen

Three weeks ago I made a reservation for 10 people. The plan was that we arrive by the long journey boat from Lucerne at 12pm and leave again for the 2pm boat. Two days before I called once again to see if the reservation was still in their books and it was. I then told the gentleman on the phone that I would check the menu online while on the boat so that when we arrive, we do not loose time to find the right menu.

Unfortunately when we reach the restaurant we learnt that the online menu was not valid and we shall choose from the hardcopy menu.

Anyways, we all chose our meals and gave the order, however part of the drinks arrived within minutes but the rest was not delivered. Then we had to ask if the other drinks could be served too. Meanwhile lots of people arrived in the restaurant and with no exception all of them received their meals whereas we were waiting despite the fact that we had to catch the 2pm boat. Of course the time was not enough for a dessert or a coffee and we had to pay and rush back to the boat.

The meal was not spectacular either. I had a mixed salade (see the picture) Well I ask myself now, what would be a reason to go back to this...

The dishes are so delicious and well presented.

I highly recommend this restaurant. i even hope they are in Zurich hehehehehe!! Then i can go to them regularly.

The view is fantastic!

The only drawback i can think of is the service tends to be slow when it is full house. We were there at around 14.00 and it was busy.

Though, the service staffs are friendly and efficient. I guess the management should make sure when it is on high-service time. they should add more workers for service.

Again, my thumbs up to the kitchen team!! Hard to find tasty food in Switzerland for me. And very creative menu set.

Hopefully i can come back when I am on the road again...

The restaurant offers delicious food and boasts a beautiful location with scenic views. However, the absence of parking facilities, disorganized staff mixing up orders, and bothersome flies detracted from the overall experience. Guests are required to park their cars 1 km away, which is inconvenient. The staff's lack of attention to detail was evident in the mix-up of starters and drinks. Additionally, the presence of flies was disruptive and made it challenging to enjoy the meal fully. These shortcomings led us to forgo ordering dessert.
