Café BOURDON — Restaurant in Geneva

I had been looking forward to trying this new café. The staff provided a warm welcome, but the service was a bit slow. My first tea order was incorrect, and the tea served was only mildly warm. I was informed that they can only heat the water to a certain temperature, which was a bit disappointing given the extensive tea menu. When I asked for the correct tea and hotter water, the server's attitude made us feel as though we were being a nuisance, which affected the overall experience. Additionally, they had run out of pastries by 10 am on a Sunday, which was surprising. Un excellent endroit pour bruncher le dimanche. Nous sommes passés le 12 Octobre 2025, sans avoir réservé. Au vue du succès et de la réputation de l'endroit, nous avons eu de la chance d'avoir encore 2 places disponibles ! L'ambiance est lumineuse, légère et presque aseptisée. On se sent bien dans un endroit propre et qui donne une forte impression de neuf. Mention spéciale pour la sélection musicale composée de titres 70's américains dans un style soul / good feeling. En tendant l'oreille, on tombe vraiment sur des pépites.

Après avoir dégusté un excellent cappuccino, préparé par un vrai barista, la boisson suivante nous a retourné les papilles : le Pumpkin Spice Latte. Je connaissais celui du Starbucks, mais là nous sommes sur un autre niveau. Si vous aimez les épices, foncez sur cette incroyable boisson, c'est déjà Noël dans votre bouche !

Pour le manger, nous avons pris les Oeufs Bénédicte (très corrects) et le Pain Perdu... Et là c'est la découverte !

Jamais je n'ai eu un tel concentré de beurre et de fondant, dans la même bouchée. La tranche (qui est énorme) est parfaitement imbibée et ce jusqu'au centre. On a presque l'impression de manger un flan coulant tellement le pain est onctueux. Accompagné de son coulis de poire et de sa coupelle cookies / chantilly, on frise la perfection. Pour la somme de 15chf, les papilles voyagent et on est calé après une telle assiette.

I found the restaurant to be the perfect vibes for a lazy brunch but the savoury dishes we tried were perfectly respectable but nothing too exceptional. The food is perfectly fine. What I did love however was the desserts and pastries which is where I believe they really shine. I also liked seeing the two owners interacting with each other and the rest of the guests. It's an interesting Russian/French crossover that I appreciated, at least...
