During my recent stay at Seehotel Riviera at Lake Lucerne, I encountered numerous issues that made the experience thoroughly disappointing.
Upon arrival, there was no staff present at reception to assist with check-in, leaving me to navigate the process alone. The room itself was uncomfortably stuffy, lacking air conditioning or even a fan. Opening the window was not a viable solution, as it allowed noise from the busy road and smoke from other guests to permeate the room.
Additionally, the mattress and pillows were uncomfortable, and the overall cleanliness of the room was subpar. The hotel's restaurant was another letdown. Despite prior confirmation of its availability, it was often closed during my stay. When it was open, the menu was extremely limited, offering little variety. Furthermore, the lack of basic amenities, such as bath linens and towels in the bathroom, was unacceptable. Attempts to address these concerns with the management were met with arrogance and a complete lack of understanding. The soaps were POOR quality and owner refused to refill toilet paper .
It was a hot day and the Owner who is teh manager as well was rude and would not provide fans
Toilets were not clean and looks like the buildng was burned at one point I could smell burnt smell
Owner WAS RUDE guy .
In summary, the combination of poor service, inadequate facilities, and unprofessional management made my stay at Seehotel Riviera highly unsatisfactory. I would strongly advise against choosing this hotel for your...
Read moreI read the reviews before our visit and I have to admit that I was skeptical. We visited as a family with our two children and we were very impressed with this hotel. In response to the poor reviews I offer the following-
The hotel is on the street- why yes it is! And the bus and Ferry make this hotel incredibly convenient. The bus is not overly loud as some people have said. The convenience factor of the hotel’s location far outweigh any concerns about noise from the street.
The beds are firm. Yup that’s great!
Nobody available for check in. This could not be more wrong. You walk inside, there is a clearly marked check in station with a phone that you just pick up and say “I’m here to check in” and the manager comes to check you in. Check in was SO EASY and friendly.
“Rude manager” This could not be further from the truth. The manager was incredibly helpful to us, he worked all day from open to close. When we wanted to visit a nearby swim/beach that was cash only and we could not locate an ATM, he helped us out by serving as an ATM.
Breakfast- The breakfast spread was thorough and the breads were delicious!
Parking- parking was so easy!
With a hotel at this price point, people should manage their expectations. Some people are never satisfied. This is not a 5 star hotel, we knew that when we made the reservation and we got far more than we expected staying here. If we come back to Lake Lucern, we would definitely...
Read moreRiviera Gersau is a pleasant hotel in front of the Lucerne lake.
Hotel construction is Old-fashioned. Only one big lift is there.
Rooms are spacious. Additionally, there is a porch overlooking the lake.
Guests can relish only tea or coffee in the room but no food. The hotel did provide a coffee maker in the room.
A TV was there with German language programs only, besides some English audio channels. The TV remote was missing. After many attempts, the housekeeping lady acknowledged the need & provided one. Communication was a big problem!
Guests must take care while bathing. If the water spills in the bathroom, there would be a penalty. Not to mention if the water seeps outside & spoils the carpet, the charge would be manifold.
Breakfast was continental and with limited items. Nevertheless, the hotel arranged tasty meals for dinner.
The porch provided an incredible view of the lake & the mountain touching it. The ice-clad golden peaks of the ridge were gleaming in the sunlight. View of the small ripples in the lake & yachts sailing on waves was...
