Auberge de La Loue — Restaurant in Gruyères

Went there based on the positive reviews. Restaurant was half full but took 1.5 hours to get basic dishes after ordering. Rostis were undercooked and oily - the rest was bland and uninspired. Location is quite cosy. Waitresses were friendly. There is an open fire but v few logs were added the night we went. Overall it’s fairly expensive (steak was 50 chf) and uninspiring. We arrived without a reservation and the owner could have not been more pleasant and accommodating. This is called great hospitality. We arrived past 2pm and there was no problem to prepare fondue, charcuterie and had a wonder and relaxing late lunch overlooking the amazing Gruyère landscape.
