Disappointing Experience – Will Not Be Returning

This was my last visit to this restaurant chain.

While I understand that things can get hectic during busy periods, the experience was unacceptable. The wait for food was exceptionally long, portion sizes were underwhelming, and one of the sides arrived cold. These issues alone would’ve been enough to warrant some disappointment — but what truly sealed the decision to never return was the conduct of the manager (L*).

This individual strutted around the restaurant as if he were walking a runway at Milan Fashion Week, spent time outside smoking with the kitchen staff, and then re-entered reeking of smoke. He ignored our table for over 30 minutes, only to finally approach us by loudly knocking on the table mid-conversation to ask, rudely, whether we had been seen to.

Worse still was the way he treated his team. The manner in which he spoke to his staff - whistling at them, snapping commands, and generally demeaning them — was genuinely appalling. Restaurant work is demanding enough without being subjected to that kind of behavior from management. Leading a team shouldn’t mean acting like you’re running a military unit.

We recently left this restaurant, and it’s clear we fell for false advertising and a pretty interior. Unfortunately, our experience was overwhelmingly poor.

Service: From the start, the staff was irritating. The first waitress over-explained the menu as if the place was something special. The second waitress hovered uncomfortably close while taking our order, speaking at an unnecessarily loud volume. The third waiter, who cleared our plates, was embarrassingly over-friendly. When he asked if we wanted dessert, we gave a firm and clear “No,” but he kept pushing, listing every dessert on the menu despite our obvious disinterest.

Food: A major disappointment. We ordered burgers with gluten-free buns, and those first two chatty waitresses could have easily warned us that their gluten-free bread is basically inedible. The buns we received were rock hard and tasted awful. The meat itself was dry, overcooked, and tasted like it had been frozen—not fresh. It was so tough that it was a struggle to cut with a knife. To top it off, the burger was tiny, with a measly, undersized patty.

Conclusion: This place is a complete waste of time and money. Don’t be fooled by the decor—save yourself the disappointment and...

Not only is the food delicious but it’s an amazing value for money. I had the lunch combo which lets you get a burger, a side, a drink, and even a hot drink (coffee, hot chocolate, latte, etc.) all for under 30 chf. The portions for both food and drink are huge. The waiters are very friendly and explain everything about the ingredients and regularly check in to see if you need anything. Not to mention, the ambiance and decorations are beautiful!
