Husband and wife mom and pop Restaurant at the base of mt Pilatus in Lucerne. Host is friendly but bi bim pop was 20.00 chf! Also, the portion was so measly small and the rice and vegetables so skimpy. Flavor was ok. Was just really turned off by the amount of food for the price. Also, was really surprised by the fact that there were no appetizers/ side dishes which all Korean restaurants always have! Not even kim Chi! I actually thought I had already been to the worst Korean restaurant around because they (tofu house) got skimpy and started serving appetizers with only “2 refills” when I know I’d been to numerous other Korean restaurants and they had no such thing! Unlimited refills on appetizers is the standard norm in Korean restaurants. This one was even worse with skimpy portions for main menu items and not even kim chi appetizer nor other appetizer side dishes that typically come as standard norm with Korean food. Not sure how come there are so many good reviews… to get customers, you need to be generous, not skimp on vegetables/ main dishes/ appetizers even if we are experiencing inflation. I wouldn’t mind paying the exorbitant fee if the food was really extraordinary and/ or decent portion size....
Read moreProbably the best Korean food in Europe. The sheer warmth and love of this family owned and run Korean restaurant will blow you away and if that's not enough their authenticity shows in the simple but carefully prepared dishes. The main menu is around 9 dishes, but each is stellar. With family or with friends I will recommend this as a must go for everyone. We loved it and will definitely go back, many times. Another plus, it's right next to the Pilatus Gondola station and barely 15 min by bus from Lucerne station. Prices are very reasonable as well. Checked every box for me, hence the 5 stars, the only I've given a place till date :) loved the genuineness...
Read moreThis rating isn’t a reflection of their food or service. This is the second time I visited Koreana after checking Google and making sure I’ve got the opening time right, but both times it was closed unexpectedly. The restaurant should update their timing or keep a sign outside the gate when it’s closed for the day. This time it was closed because the nearby tourist point Mt. Pilatus was closed - it wasn’t clear what that has to do with the restaurant’s business hours but anyway:- Be sure to call ahead! I hope I get to try the food...
