Café Café — Restaurant in Lausanne

Hi everyone, I visited this place which was near my accomodation and I had pizza and coke and I would like to let you all know that as I am English speaker and the place is in French speaking area of Switzerland and I don't have any problems with it as their was lady who was french speaker and the gentleman their was speaking in English and he understands me very well and the pizza quality was good as the base was not old it was soft and crispy as old base are hard to eat and swallow. So I ordered a 5 cheese pizza and it was delicious I can taste all the flavour of cheese used in it and in fact I got chillies as well on special request which was nice and I would definitely recommend this place to go and have your meal. No communication problem and good food to have with friends...

Daughter had penne carbonara - penne was hard and chewy, the bacon was fatty, the sauce was watery. It was disgusting and she didn't eat it. We did let the waitress know but they didn't take it off the bill.

I had spaghetti burrata and the sauce tasted like it'd been cooked in a burnt pan, I did eat it because I was hungry. The burrata was chewy and didn't taste juicy and fresh so I left that.

Daughter had nuggets and chips. The nuggets were burnt and the chips looked like the scraps bits with some raw chips too.

The pizzas (diavola and margarita) were both good.

Staff were really lovely.

We were sat in the conservatory bit with people smoking around us.

Overall not good....

The only good thing is the extremely friendly and responsive waitresses! The price of the pizza is aligned with swiss average prices whereas the "Filets de perche" are far cheaper. The place is as noisy as a supermarket, there were a lot of flies attracted by the barbecue, in the main interior area the tables are set up just like in a hall, no cosy atmosphere at all! The food was acceptable, fresh but not tasty. However, the vegetarian pizza came topped with unexpected veggies: spinach and other unexplained green stems, canned artichoke, etc.. One good thing : there was an annoucement that you can have 20% off on take away pizzas but I didn't test it so I can't confirm...
