I was invited to that restaurant by an important friend and said nothing when I was there because I did not want to spoil our lunch time completely.
But now it is time to give my honest opinion:
The place is decorated in a kitchy way. Lot's of mixed staff that do not fit with its other. But, let's say it is my personal opinion.
I have ordered a plate of pasta; farfale with scampi and courgettes. For 34 Swiss francs (around USD 40) I would expect more scampi and more slices of courgette and less pasta. The sauce was watery, just to add to my dissapointement. But, let's say it is my personal opinion.
There was a long table occupied by adults with children making a lot of noise. Well, children are children and you can not complain about the noise in a fastfood but in supposedly "classy" restaurant you expect that the restaurant people will kindly ask the guests with the children, at least, to try to keep them calm. Other customers are entitled to the right of some pieceful time to enjoy lunch and their own conversation. But, let's say it is my personal opinion.
I have ordered tiramisu which was served from the dessert trolley. I think tiramisu should be kept in the fridge and not stay out on a dessert trolley, specially not in a summer day of August. The thing that arrived on my plate was looking more like a pile of cow s**t than a piece of tiramisu. Probably the waiter could not or did not care to serve it in a way that it will keep its form. But, let's say it is my personal opinion.
Last, but not least imporant: At some point a waiter came over to our table and said, in a teasing way, to the other people two on our table and pointing at me: "He talks too much doesn't he? Bla, bla, bla all the time". Needless to say I felt humilated and insulted. Why a waiter should critisize me or even tease me in front of my company? Because I am not Swiss? Because I do not speak good French? Why does he takes as granded that, as a customer, I enjoy to be teased?
But wait, the best part is coming up:
He asked the other people in my company where I come from, they told him that I am Greek and then he said something like Italians (like him probably) and Greeks (like me) are similar and then HE HUGGED ME, HE GRABBED MY HEAD with his left arm and with his right hand HE RUBBED MY BELLY!
H-O-N-E-S-T-L-Y!
HE RUBBED MY BELLY.
Now, if this is acceptable or not, I let you to judge it, because, let's say it is my personal opinion.
But, as we are still in the pandemic situation I DO NOT WANT to be HUGGED by strangers. It is not safe, it is not even allowed by the Swiss Federal Government ordinances and... ... THIS IS NOT A PERSONAL OPINION!
PERIOD!
Summary: Kitschy decoration, mediocre and overprised food, chlidren are allowed to make a lot of noise and you may get a "friendly" grab of your head and a rub on your belly (as part of the...

Read moreIt was truly disappointing. The restaurant’s reputation is high and we came upon suggestions from friends. It has a beautiful old garden, fragrant and cool, perfect for warm summer evening. The first warning that it is a not high end place came in the form of cheap plastic chairs and garden tables. Some of the starters were interesting but short of excellent and some were just plain. Eg. fennel salad was very finely cut but plainly spiced. We were still keeping spirits up waiting for the mains. We ordered “elephant ear”, the house specialty at the price of over 60 CHF. It was a greasy omelet like circle on the plate with the texture of process meat and a taste that generated no association (see picture). Our son ordered grilled chicken. It came burned (see picture). The sides came good ten minutes after the mains, after a reminder. At the end, we got marshmallows and some other candies (picture). Appalling. That they did not have several wines from their wine list, and that we never got the grappa that we ordered, don’t seem issues in the context of all other...
