DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE A PEANUT ALLERGY. I have a peanut allergy and called ahead of visiting to ask if I would be able to eat there and if they had allergy information as often Asian restaurants use a lot of peanuts. I was told yes it’s fine and to ask for information upon arrival. When we got there we asked for the allergy list or where to find info, the waitress left to ask but didn’t return so we asked another waitress. She was very nice and told me they didn’t have a list (which they definitely should) but she could show me which foods contained peanuts. As she was showing me the hot buffet section I asked if they used peanut oil and she told me ‘no, only sesame’. Okay so far so good, I get a plate of raw sushi to begin and my parter gets a plate of hot food from the buffet. After we’ve began eating, around 10 minutes later, the second waitress returns to tell me she’s going to double check about the peanut oil just to be sure. She then returns and says she’s sorry but she was mistaken, ALL of the buffet food is cooked in peanut oil! And if I wanted some teppanyaki they could cook it in olive oil instead. This was a nice offer but they clearly didn’t understand the seriousness of a peanut allergy and the risks of cross contamination.

I am incredibly lucky I didn’t get any hot food to begin with or right now I would be in hospital suffering sever anaphylaxis due to being told explicitly that the food was safe for me to eat.

We have given this 2 stars as the sushi was good and my partner said the food he tasted was also good (if a little cold). Also when we said we had to leave due to my allergy they were very polite and couldn’t be more sorry. They obviously didn’t charge us for the food or cokes we had ordered.
