McDonald’s — Restaurant in Renens

Service was so poor, not even worth a star! BUT a 1 star was given because we had to in order for the review to be published.

We just came back from Vaudoise Arena after watching the Youth Olympic hockey match. Since it was so cold because of the east wind, we decided to stop over andbuy hot drinks there. We were there just after 22h00 and since our train was at 22h27 and the place was quite empty, we thought we had enough time just to buy 1 espresso and 2 hot chocolate. After a few minutes of waiting at the counter and being completely ignored by the staff, we understood that it was better for us to do the " self automated order"and so we did.

As I said, there were not that many customers but however the service was the slowest that we have ever since. Last few years, we have noticed that the quality of service and food from McDonald's here is Switzerland has deteriorated. Cold and not crunchy fries being served, patties from burgers practically being thrown on the bread, tasteless chicken wings.

But last night was the worst service of all. Incompetent and inefficient. There was no urgency in they way they worked. 2 female staffs behind the counter were talking to each other while working and figuring where things were, the "supervisor" was like "strolling in the park" while preparing and serving the orders. 2 kitchen staffs moving slowly. One staff was cleaning the counter when it was obvious that it would have been better to help in processing orders while customers were waiting. How difficult it is to prepare a cappucino and 2 hot chocolate??? A few days ago we were in Coop at the train station, we did a self machine and we could prepare our drinks in 2 minutes!!! Obviously, the staff who was supposed to do in this McDonald's has no clue how to do it. In the end it took so long that we didn't have our cappucino and we had to rush for our train while running with the hot chocolate. We ended being so mad with hot chocolate splattered on our hands and jackets!!

McDonald's supposed to be one of famous FAST food restaurant and the important thing is to serve customers fast and efficiently....well, this place doesn't do that at all!! It is clear that the management has a lot of work to do in looking at better training and managing the staff...

Friday 23 july 2021, around 18h. It was the 9th birthday of my daughter.

We took 3 kids menus and a snack of 9 nugets. In the middle of the dinning, our girl of 9 years asked us about her nuget. Apparently, she had started eating her frites first (maybe because she had only frites) and she was asking her nugets now. We were suprised.

I asked ladies working there about the situation. One of them asked about the receipt. She checked and later brought her nuget. But she started speaking in a rude manner that we should had checked the content at first time. I informed her once more that it was the kids menu that was lacking the nugets, which is their fault not including the nugets.

These people should think once more putting an insult on the customers.

Nice and well organized restaurant with quick service and identical products as the other branches. You can pay cash or use your credit or debit cards. The restaurant is clean and the taste of the meals is good. The personnel are welcoming and smiley.
