Updated after owner response: The chef refused to serve at their opening hours, but compromised after I complained. After receiving a low score review, the owner responded and blamed me on “came to the restaurant too late.”
Original: Note the opening hours are not precise. As it’s indicated on the map, the restaurant is opening until 14:30 for lunch. However when I arrived around 14:00 for a quick take-away, the chef told me they [always] stop working half an hour early “like every other restaurants”. The chef kept saying: “Every restaurant stops working before the close time. This should be default by everyone.”
I’m not sure whether the earlier closure is really a default in Switzerland, some other restaurants owners would kindly remind me not to hurry and enjoy the food when close hours approaching, so I guess it’s personal choice. I indicated that it was still their opening hour and I only need a takeout order instead of seating there a long time to be served. After that, the chef went to a quick cooking.
Before going I suggested an edit of opening hours on Google map to avoid other disappointed customers in the future (wouldn’t that help the customers, by simply indicating the kitchen closing time??), they insisted I should not, and kept saying they already wrote the early closure on the door (which suggested the 21:30 kitchen closure in the evenings, so why not add the lunch schedule?). I was very annoyed by their attitudes of refusing to solve the problem, thus the waitress said:” It’s only such a tiny problem, how can you be angry?”, and the chef teased and said:” You have such a bad temper!”.
I particularly came to a meal recommended by someone, and left the restaurant with the comments of being trouble-making and bad-tempered by the waitress and the chef.
In the past half year, I visited this place for about 5 times. Once I accidentally arrived around 14:15 and wished to have a quick dine-in. There were many people in the restaurant, the chef told me they preferred to serve take-away food, since they wanted to close right at 14:30. I felt sorry but unluckily I really didn’t have time to take away and found another place to eat, so I begged for an exception and finished the meal within, like 5 minutes, to let them close on time, and said so many good wishes to them while they spoke loudly in Chinese of how unpleasant they were for my request of dining-in. So today, I particularly asked for a take-away meal, hoping to avoid a complaint on me by the waitress. What I didn’t expect was, this time, their requirement to the customer became “no meals after 14:00”.
If they couldn’t even have a ruled, normalized opening hours schedule, how can I trust they have a meticulous process to produce safe, stable-quality food? If they care about their off-work time more than care about a customer leaving disappointedly and hungrily, how can I believe they care about their food, their customer experience, even their reputation?
While they explaining their early closure, the waitress even said something like “in China restaurants are the same.” I lived in China long enough to know the Chinese workers are famous for humbly working longer hours instead of earlier closure😒. In China’s market, service providers are usually desperately keeping their five-star reviews, to gain more customers through the auto-recommendation on the Internet. Why don’t this restaurant need to care about their reputation?
When I talked about the unpleasant with other Chinese customers, I found not only myself felt their different attitudes toward Chinese customers and local customers. The owner seems to know that local customers are more sensitive to service than Chinese customers, and bring easier money to them for food which is just-able-to-be-called-Chinese-food for native Chinese. With too few choices of Chinese food in Switzerland and stable needs for national food, Chinese customers seem to be a no-need-to-serve-but-have-to-come-again group of good-quality customers and received much too more colder faces in...
Read moreChinese family atmosphere for this delicious and traditional Chinese restaurant 🇨🇳❤️. Food is really typical and what impressed me it's the big quantity of the portions, really big for the cheapest price I found here in Switzerland. 💵 Price very cheap for the quantity of portions $ really T.O.P You can eat with the traditional chopsticks 🥢 or require the European cutlery. The atmosphere is really simple and cozy, as it's usual in China. The servants are gentle and they are part of the family. ☺️ About food you can find everything with vegetarian and vegan options. 😋 My favourite there 😍: Vegetarian grilled raviolis with a fantastic soy sauce Vegetarian noodles Shrimp 🦐 in Chinese chilly sauce Vanilla fried ice cream 🍦

Read moreVery delicious Chinese food. The portions are very big and the price performance rate is quite good. There is a possibility to sit outside. When the weather is good, we prefer to sit outside because sometimes there is a strong smell inside the restaurant. Most of the staff does not speak English but they are very friendly you can explain everything by pointing out dishes on the menu. I can definitely recommend vegetable dumpling, crispy beef, Cajun chicken, duck and aubergine. Tap water is free and finally don't forget to order rice...
