Sängerstübli — Restaurant in Riehen

I make a point of visiting the Beyeler Fondation Museum every time I am in Basel. Two years ago, I discovered this restaurant within very easy walking distance from the museum. It turned out to exceed all my expectations. It has that Old Swiss decor and atmosphere, immediately creating a sense of cozy comfort. Moreover, the menu is extensive and the food is extraordinary. My "roesti pasteten" were sensational and I had to go back another day just to eat that dish again. After many years living in Riehen, I finally visited Sängerstübli. It is absolutely wonderful. Nice old-style atmosphere, great service, and excellent food. Of special note is the option of small portions. Almost all of their main dishes offer a half-portion (see photo). For us, that was perfect. We had room for some of the excellent desserts. We stumbled upon this restaurant at the finish of a long walk in the forest and had a delightful experience. The menu made it clear that cordon Bleu was their main specialty provide many choices.
