I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Chateau de Villa in Sierre, Valais canton, Switzerland. This charming little restaurant in a picturesque château near the vineyards is a true delight! Inside, the menu offers plenty of cheese and cured meat options, but the highlight is undoubtedly the raclette. The experience lets you sample five different cheeses from the Valais region, one after another, each unique and delicious. If you’re still hungry, you can go for additional rounds of your favorite cheese from the selection. The raclettes come with perfectly cooked potatoes and traditional sides like pickles and onions. Everything was delicious, and the ambiance was just perfect. I finished with a lovely apple tart and coffee—a wonderful way to...

This is probably one of the best places for exclusive raclettes in Switzerland and without any doubt, it has the most complete collection of Wallis wines in the country. I had dinner here last night after having traveled from the Jungfraujoch at almost 3500 m altitude in the canton of Berne to Sierre via the Lötschberg tunnel, taking me through the mountains from Kandersteg to Goppenstein in 16 minutes only. For once, I ordered meat and was served one of the best quality of Val d'Herence steaks I have ever eaten, accompanied by a glass of Pinot Noir from Denis Mathier in Salquenen. Good value for money, pleasant and competent staff and well worth a visit, not only for eating but also for their wine cellar/store and wine museum. You can purchase wines difficult to find elsewhere at...

Interesting and comprehensive variety of best local wines and the archi-typical Valais specialties. Extremely pleasant terrace to eat and drink in warm weather. A truly extraordinary adjacent wine shop which has the superb collection of the nearly all the best regional wines and Eaux de vive. If you are a tourist and want to experience for the first time the great variety and quality of Valais wines and simultaneously buy a few Valais souvenirs or gifts for friends at home, there is no better single place to do it that I know of. The chef is quite an amusing character . The serving staff in the restaurant and Bar/shop is very competent, knowledgeable , and pleasant and are at ease in English,...

We (a swiss couple) found this place by change and had a superb time. We started with 100 grams of special dry alpine pork meat (CHF 22). Really delicious and enough for two as a starter. Afterwards we decided to go for the Raclette tasting (CHF 35, all you can eat). You will be served one by one 5 different cheeses from different regions. After, you just tell them which cheese to bring next. Their wine list is massive. E nice Fendant will suit perfect. The one we have had was excellent (see picture). A visit at this place is highly recommended - given you like the smell of 🧀
