I have travelled the world extensively over 40 years. I ate at all restaurants ranging from pop & mom’s to Michelin three stars. This is my honest review of the restaurant Chateau de Villa in Sierre, Valais canton, Switzerland. This charming little restaurant in a picturesque château near the vineyards is a true delight! Inside, the menu offers plenty of cheese and cured meat options, but the highlight is undoubtedly the raclette. Good value for money, pleasant and competent staff and well worth a visit, not only for eating but also for their wine cellar/store and wine museum. You can purchase wines difficult to find elsewhere at...
Read moreInteresting and comprehensive variety of best local wines and the archi-typical Valais specialties. Extremely pleasant terrace to eat and drink in warm weather. A truly extraordinary adjacent wine shop which has the superb collection of the nearly all the best regional wines and Eaux de vive. If you are a tourist and want to experience for the first time the great variety and quality of Valais wines and simultaneously buy a few Valais souvenirs or gifts for friends at home, there is no better single place to do it that I know of. The chef is quite an amusing character . The serving staff in the restaurant and Bar/shop is very competent, knowledgeable , and pleasant and are at ease in English,...
